Nick Fradiani has been taking his sweet ole’ time releasing his next album. The American Idol season 14 winner nabbed the crown back in May 2015, but will only be releasing his post-Idol debut, Hurricane, on August 5!
Idol watchers talk about winners needing to strike while the iron is hot, but there is also something to be said about taking the time to choose, write and produce the best possible songs for an album release, right? For fans impatient for new music, Nick has been previewing songs from the new album every week. The latest sneak peek is “Nothing to Lose.”

“As promised here is another clip of one of my favorite songs on the album, “Nothing to Lose,” Nick posts in a blurb on his Pledge Music page, where fans can pre-order the new album. “I’m getting so fired up being able to share new music with you all, and pretty soon it will be full songs! Hope you guys like this one! Let me know what you think. :)”
In a behind-the-scenes video exclusively for those who purchased the album, Nick notes that the track is one of his favorites on the album and is “basically about knowing you screwed up in a relationship and telling the person ‘I’ve got nothing left to lose but you.'”
It’s one of the songs Nick has been performing live at radio events, and the clue that they might have something special? By the end of the performance, folks would be singing along to the chorus.
Check out the song below. Featuring a rolling piano line, the song is really catchy. It might be my favorite yet.
