American Idol 2019 Top 10 Reveal: Everything You Need to Know

American Idol’s live shows begin next week. The Sunday episode (April 14)  will be taped ahead on Friday April 12 whole Monday’s show (April 15) will be live. Also, America votes next week for the very firs time.

Additionally, the Top 14 performances/Top 10 reveal will proceed as they did last year, with one difference. America will choose SEVEN of the Top 10, while the judges will choose 3. Last season the ratio was 6-4.  Here’s how next week will proceed:

On Sunday, April 14 on ABC (8:00–10:01 p.m. EDT), the Top 14 contestants will perform on the Idol stage for the first time for your votes.

Voting will open at the top of the show and will close the following morning, Monday, April 15 at 9:00 a.m. EDT. You can vote online at AmericanIdol.com/vote, in the American Idol app or via text. You can vote 10 times per contestant, per method.

American Idol 2019 Full Season 17 Schedule

Following Sunday’s overnight vote, on Monday, April 15 (8:00–10:00 p.m. EDT), the Top 14 contestants will be narrowed down to 10 finalists, The seven contestants with the most votes by America will be revealed, securing their spot in the Top 10. Those that are safe will perform a VICTORY song, and the seven remaining contestants will sing to impress the judges. The judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will then choose three contestants, pushing a total of 10 Idol contestants to the next round. 

Ryan Seacrest returns as host and iHeartRadio personality Bobby Bones acts as in-house mentor.

Additionally, if Monday’s results show is structured like it was in 2018, each of the Top 14 will join Ryan on stage. After learning whether they advance or are in danger, the contestant will perform a song. Ryan will declare seven singers safe and seven singers in danger.
