American Idol 2018 Top 14 Poll Results and Predictions (PHOTOS)

AMERICAN IDOL - "113 (Top 14)" - After solo and celebrity duet performances with the top 24 contestants, the judges narrowed down the field to the top 14 finalists. Now the judges are handing over the reigns to America to start voting on who they want to crown the next Idol, as the search for America's next superstar continues on its new home on America's network, The ABC Television Network, SUNDAY, APRIL 22 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT). Little did American Idol fans know that Sunday night’s Top 14 performance episode would feature the only overnight voting of the regular season. (I’m assuming there will be overnight voting between the performance and results finale.)  But between now and then there will be no opportunities to speculate between performances and results as Idol moves to real time voting for  Sunday shows. So let’s enjoy this post, shall we?

American Idol 2018 Recap – Top 14 Performances Live Blog (VIDEOS)

Poll results! Four singers are heading home tonight. And in the “should go home” and “will go home” categories you chose the same singers, albeit in a different order. It’s a little tricky to predict eliminations when reading the minds of the judges/producers is involved. Last night’s vote will determine six singers heading to next week’s shows. The judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan will choose 4 singers to move on to the Top 10

American Idol 2018 Polls – Top 14 Performances

But I agree that Michelle Sussett, Jonny Brenns, Garrett Jacobs and Mara Justine SHOULD go home. But will they?  The judges could choose wildcards that have Idol fans collectively scratching their heads. Anything could happen tonight!

Favorite performance? Maddie Poppe’s lovely “Homeward Bound” received over 1/4 of the vote. YAY. I liked Catie Turner and Dennis Lorenzo more than Gabby Barrett last night, but we’re basically agree here.  And you gave the episode a B-.  I was a little disappointed the show didn’t go live last night. But in the end,  it was for the best. Sound problems (BANDZILLA. The band was SO LOUD), nervous contestants, and the judges getting used to the new setup made for an uneven episode.

PREDICTION: I’ll take a shot at this. Michelle, Jonny, Garrett and Mara are going home. But I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if the judges saved Michelle. Or fans at home voted Jonny or Garrett through.
