Alexis Sarah Elizabeth Gomez is a country singer songwriter from Ohio. Since a young age, Alexis has had a knack for singing, and has been performing for as long as she can remember. From a family of singers, Alexis quickly began performing with the family band, adding her guitar, piano and banjo to the mix. Aside from her singing talents, Alexis prides herself on her ability to write beautiful country songs, such as Gone, Hey Boy and Marry Me. In addition to winning multiple local singing competitions, her songwriting has been getting her recognized around her hometown.
According to her website, Alexis lists Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry and more as her role models. However, while Alexis has a passion for music, she also has a passion for the Spanish language and culture. In addition to one day hoping to be a country singer, Alexis also says that she really wants to one day teach Spanish. Alexis is currently planning to move to Nashville, but since she has made it into the top 24 of this coming season of American Idol, anything can change.
Overall Thoughts: I like Alexis and I think she is a talented country singer songwriter with a lot of potential. Between the two country girls, being Alexis and Maddie, I feel one will fill out the top 13 as the token country girl. I could make a case for both Alexis and Maddie, so who gets that country spot will go to whoever brings it more on the performance night. Regardless, Alexis has quite a legitimate shot of making the top 13.
