Adam Lambert Cast in FOX’s Rocky Horror Picture Show

American Idol and Glee alum, Adam Lambert is returning to FOX to co-star in the network’s production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Adam will play the role of Eddie, originated by Meatloaf in the 1975 film.  Eddie is the rock ‘n’ roll-loving ex-delivery boy who emerges at Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s on a motorcycle and crashes the party.

“I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision. Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!” Said Adam, in a nod to the song Eddie sings “Hot Patootie Bless My Soul.”

According to THR sources, Adam’s name was one of the first to surface for a role in the show. He was originally considered for the role of Frank-N-Furter, originated by Tim Curry, but passed on the offer. Laverne Cox, from Orange Is the New Black, was eventually cast in the role.

Already cast in the production: Victoria Justice and Disney star Ryan McCartan as Janet and Brad, Penny Dreadful actor Reeve Carney as Riff-Raff, and singer Staz Nair as Rocky Horror.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, is set to shoot this winter and air Fall 2016 on FOX.

Checkout Meatloaf performing the song in the 1975 movie.

It’s a small, but fun role. The song is perfect for Adam. I still have my reservations about this production, but Adam will be a highlight nevertheless.
