iTunes Chart Update as of 12 PM EST:
Sundance Head managed to reach the Top 10 this week. He’s the highest charting contestant at No. 9. FYI: The iTunes multiplier is only 5X this season instead of 10, for some unknown reason. The rest of the iTunes rules, including cumulative totals for the finale, appear to be the same.
Poor Billy Gilman almost made it… but not quite at No. 11. And yikes! Ali Caldwell was still outside of the Top 200 at noon. I am still mystified by Josh Gallagher’s low chart numbers. There are quite a few guitar strumming guys this season, and several are similar (Aaron Gibson, Brendan Fletcher, Austin Allsup are the gravel guys!) but Josh is the only pop country artist in the entire Top 12. Maybe Adam Levine can’t score with a country artist..

Here’s my unscientific prediction: Courtney Harrell and Christian Cuevas will be bottom 2 and sing for the twitter vote. Christian prevails, Courtney is sent home. I think Ali Caldwell will squeak by this week based on previous terrific performances.
