The Voice 10 Recap – Top 11 Performances – Live Blog and Video
Thomas Rhett to Perform on The Voice April 26 Results
iTunes chart Rankings at 12:04 PM.
Fans buying up tracks by the late Prince, and new music from Beyonce was fated to keep this week’s The Voice singers from entering the Top 10. As far as votes are concerned, I’m not sure there’s much to discern, considering how wildly unhelpful the rankings were last week. However, I do think the bottom 2 will come out of the singers clustered at the bottom of the chart.
However, it’s fascinating to me that Paxton Ingram could go from a curve busting 164 last week-performing later in the show even–to charting in the Top 20. He performed THIRD this week, and he still ruled on iTunes. To be clear, my opinion on Paxton has been that he’s a solid, entertaining singer, week after week. I’ve been perplexed that his songs didn’t chart higher. But all it took was pulling a gospel song out of his back pocket to propel him up the chart? Wow. It sucks not to be Christian on The Voice.

The Voice 10 Top 11 – Favorite Performance
Alisan wins handily with “Stay For Me Baby” and I hope that’s the last time anybody sings that particular song on a singing show. By the way, Chris Cornell recorded a version of “Stay With Me Baby” that appeared on the HBO series Vinyl on Sunday. That could have factored into Christina’s decision to hand the song to Alisan.

Prediction: Owen Danoff and either Daniel Passino or Shalyah Fearing will perform for the save. Either way, I think Owen Danoff loses the sing-off and goes home this week. I actually think there are several contestants who should head home before Owen: Daniel, Nick or even Mary Sarah. Owen has had some off weeks, but he’s a better singer than Nick and more heartfelt than Daniel. Mary Sarah has a good voice, but has presented herself like a karaoke singer since her blind audition.
