Phillip Phillips is in New York City promoting his new album, The World from The Side of the Moon. He’ll perform on The View and The Late Show with David Letterman. Plus, he’s got a performance set at The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.

Phillip Phillips talks ‘Side of the Moon’ in Anthem – Talking before the set, Phillips, who wrote or co-wrote all but two of the tracks on “The World From the Side of the Moon,” said, “If I’d have just been handed some songs, I probably wouldn’t have had an album. I like to have an input on songs and (the record label) really respected that.” The 22-year-old Georgia native said the record picks up where “Home” left off and incorporates elements of blues and rock. “We’re getting more of the musicians back in the limelight like it was in the ’70s and ’90s,” Phillips said. “That’s such a good thing. Now that their characters have graduated high school, they are leading new exciting lives in New York City. Lea, a New York native, was the luckiest – she had two wardrobe changes so she could shoot two separate scenes, one with Chris, the other with her new love interest on the show played by Dean Geyer.
