Glee Season 4 – Guilty Pleasure – Listen to Full Songs! (AUDIO)

Glee 4x17 - Guilty Pleasures - WAM!

The next episode of Glee, “Guilty Pleasure”, airing Thursday March 21 9/8c pm FOX, promises to be full of cheesy goodness! When Shue gets the flue, the Dyanamic Duo, Blaine and Sam take over the choir room and decide to have some fun.

The kids reveal their “guilty pleasures” and results are some heartfelt confessions that bring friends even closer. The kids in New York City have confessions of their own. Rachel (Lea Michele) finds out about Brody’s (Dean Geyer) man-whoring, which leads to the two singing a very emotional duet of Radiohead’s “Creep.”

And while we’re talking emotional? OMG YOU GUYS. Just wait until you hear Blaine (Darren Criss) sing “Against All Odds.” TEARS. The recorded version is just a prelude to the LIVE version Darren sings at the piano in the episode. Can we just get Klaine back together? Like NOW? PLEASE?  I’ve heard a million versions of this song, and Darren’s version has given me a new appreciation of this rather tired classic.

The rest of the tunes go down like delicious cotton candy. I want to eat them all up!  Barry Manilow, Wham! The Spice Girls, Bobby Brown and ABBA are PERFECT show choir fodder. Why hasn’t this theme been explored already? Enjoy.

“Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wam! – Sam & Blaine

I’m officially in love with Darren Criss.

  • DD

    Get in line honey! :-)

Did you hear his voice break on “cry”. Had me bawling! If this isn’t about Kurt, its such a huge wasted opportunity…….

  • GleeBunny

“I’ve heard a million versions of this song”

And that’s just on Idol, right?

  • mjsbigblog

YES. And every single one is so TERRIBLE I got to the point where I loathed the song. Actually, I’m not really fond of the Phil Collins original, either.

  • Sarah

Wow, Darren! I’ve always hated that song so much that I’ve never really paid much attention to the lyrics. Darren sure can sell a sad song and really make you listen. I’ve already loved that boy, but wow, this just makes me love him even more.

  • Jason Scott

My favorite trainwreck is Paige Miles. Yikes.

  • Caroline Bridges

Am I the only one who wanted Lea Michele to have to jam all the original F-words back into Creep, especially after all the cutesy “whoa” affectations and such in the first half of the song? ;)

[Just kidding — family show and all that, I get it]

I love that song, and I thought her singing in the second half was great. She can leave the F-words out of that half if she wants.

Or she can keep the cutesy bits in the first half if in the second half she suddenly bursts into a cloud of smoke and emerges in full Elphaba/Wicked mode with green skin in honor of her television mother’s impending arrival and as a metaphor for her empowerment. Or an STD caught from the unfairly re-written Brody.

  • mjsbigblog

Yeah. I’m not feeling the “Creep” cover. It’s too cutsey and cabaret-ish for me to feel the original intent, which was all about dread and self-loathing.

I’d always hoped Glee would do a radiohead cover–but sung by Kurt. That would be kind of amazing, imo.

  • milwlovesadam

I was never a fan of Phil Collin’ song either, but, Criss sure can twist it around and deliver a heartfelt rendition, can’t he? I’m surprised that I actually like all the songs for this week. Even Wham and ABBA. Nice job.

But, Creep is the showstopper for me. Incredible vocals.

  • sweetmm

I’m just loving the amount of British pop songs in this episode :) especially these are the songs I boogied too those days ;)

  • sweetmm

I hate Creep due to the overproduction wished it was more raw; loving Darren’s rendition of AAO <3

  • JoleneJ

Wow, against All Odds sent such a chill down my spine”

  • Axxxel

It could be about Sam ?

  • Axxxel

This episode gives me similar vibes as “Saterday Night Glee-ver”… except for “Creep”, all the songs are so much from “my time”. Ok “Copacabana” not really but still it was sometimes played during parties “in those days”…

  • Axxxel

Yeah, I still think there is a STD storyline.. but not only for Rachel but also for Kurt… Can’t wait for the day that Adam’s realizes that he contracted one from Kurt and Kurt has to confess that he spent the night with Blaine.

  • mjsbigblog

Blaine isn’t in love with Sam like that. It’s just a crush. My speculation is that after he reveals his feelings to Sam, and they talk it out, Blaine realizes the crush is really about misplaced feelings for Kurt.

Also, I’m thinking Blaine finds out that despite hooking up with Kurt at the wedding, his relationship with Adam is ongoing. Maybe Blaine is beginning to believe that his chance for a reconciliation with the love of his life is truly slipping away. Hence, the song.

  • Axxxel

Sounds good to me… Nice contrast with “Come what may”…as much as I think Klaine is endgame, I still want some Kadam action… and some drama…

  • Chantel Wood

So i am completely guilty of creep being my favorite self loathing song and i believe they did a wonderful remake of it !

  • Pretty Horsey

I wish Mamma Mia was just the NY side.
