Zayn Malik accepted a trophy at the Asian Awards in London for Outstanding Achievement in Music. The singer received the award because of his Pakistani heritage.
Sporting a newly shaved head, the singer was escorted to the event by his mother. It’s his first major appearance after leaving the massively popular boyband One Direction in order to be ” a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.” Except when he’s NOT out of the spotlight, of course.

At any rate, Zayn hit the red carpet with his mum and a newly shaved head, in his first major public appearance as a solo artist. The singer was being feted for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
“I’d also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys that I ever met whilst being in the band and doing all the amazing things that I did,” said Zayn during his thank you speech, “Some of the things that we did will stay with me for the rest of my life. Here’s to the future.”
