ZAYN and Zhavia Ward Remake “A Whole New World” Music VIDEO

Two reality show contestants have come together (more or less!) to remake a Disney classic. ZAYN formerly a member of X Factor 2010 alums One Direction and Zhavia Ward who competed on the FOX competition show The Four in 2018 perform an unlikely remake of the Aladdin classic “A Whole New World.”

The song will play over the credits of the upcoming remake of the beloved Disney classic animated movie, which is due out May 24.

Disney exec Mitchell Leib said in a press release: “The selection of artists, producer and tonal direction was critical for the success of updating a classic song like this. Zayn’s vocals are like no other and his artistic imprint immediately brought a contemporary and diverse presence. Additionally, Zayn could have chosen any artist in the world to collaborate with on the duet, but he personally selected Zhavia for her unique perspective, powerful vocal abilities and to platform a talented new artist, ensuring that the audience could discover this song, again, for the first time.”

About the new song, Zhavia tweeted, “It’s finally out! It was really hard to keep this a secret! I’m so happy to be a part of this incredible song … hope you all love it !” The singer made it to the The Four final and was signed to Columbia records afterward.

A new version of “Friend Like Me” performed by Will Smith and DJ Khaled, as well as a new song, “Speechless,” described as Jasmine’s (Naomi Scott) “big breakout song in the film about finding her voice.”

Other songs on the album include “Arabian Nights,” “One Jump Ahead” and “Prince Ali.” The digital album comes out May 21, with a physical album drop on May 24.
