Zap2it is reporting that X Factor 4th place finisher, Marcus Canty is close to signing a record deal.
Earlier rumors placed Marcus in the hands of X Factor judge, L.A. Reid at Epic Records, where he is chairman. If Marcus is signed at Epic, he’ll join winner, Melanie Amaro, whose deal has already been announced.
Chris Rene (3rd), Astro (5th) and Josh Krajcik (2nd) are also reportedly headed for deals at Sony as well.
“Yea now the work begins! I got something real nice for y’all coming soon trust me it’s gonna be nuts! I’m excited!,” Marcus writes on twitter.
Simon told reporters after the X Factor that while winner Melanie Amaro is the priority, he’d like to keep his top contenders in the family, “You’re not going to let Astro go, you’re not going let Chris [Rene] go, Josh [Krajcik] go. I mean that’s madness.”
