INTERVIEW: FLEUR EAST
She’s come a long way in under a year, and now bubbly singer and London native, Fleur East is ready to release her music to the world. We got to know the gorgeous singer a little better during her shoot with NOTION, and discovered what she’s been up to since last year’s X Factor finals.

27-year-old Fleur has had an amazing year. The ambitious singer became a well-known name when she made it to the X Factor finals last year. Despite losing to Ben Haenow, she impressed Simon Cowell so much, he offered her a record deal with SYCO Music after the show. It’s no wonder why – Fleur was an immediate hit with viewers of the show and became the first ever contestant to score her own #1 in the iTunes singles charts with her cover of Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’. Those following Fleur on social media will have spotted her jetting back and forth from LA since then, but until now her projects have been kept very much under wraps.
In recent weeks the singer who almost gave up her dream before auditioning for X Factor, has been teasing fans with snippets of her upcoming single ‘Sax’, released this week. Fleur stopped to chat with NOTION, providing some clues about the style of the new album, whilst dismissing certain X Factor rumours and she explains why her determination and hard work has finally paid off.

Simon Cowell reveals the one question he’s dreading from son Eric when he grows up
The X Factor judge has exclusively told The Mirror there is something he’s not sure he could do for his only child

Simon Cowell used to walk and talk with a swagger that bordered on overconfidence.

He took his X Factor show to America in 2011 and felt unbeatable, telling critics it would pull in over 20 million viewers.

Then two things happened, the show flopped after a couple of years and in July 2013, Lauren Silverman announced she was pregnant with his baby. Both moments caused celebrity shockwaves.

The two things have had an impact on his life, and one-year-old baby Eric has changed him as a person, even threatening to stop even his biggest bad habit.

Puffing on a menthol cigarette, Cowell says: “These are as bad as the others. I do about ten a day and I have cut down.

“I tried the vapour ones but I hated it. I have tried everything. If Eric grows up and says stop it I don’t know what I would do.
