Gary Barlow tells new look Craig Colton he gave ‘the number one performance’ on the opening night of X Factor 2011 live shows
Gary Barlow’s fourth act of the night, Craig Colton, stole the show in an emotional performance of Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri, a song that he picked himself.

Craig, who has been eating vegetables in a bid to get healthier, looked more like a pop-star than ever as he took to the stage in an all black outfit.

Gary had even taken his personal nutritionist to the X Factor house to help him out with his diet.

Before performing we saw a clip of the 22-year-old preparing his healthy dinner whilst the other contestants ate burgers.

The dieting clearly paid off as Louis said after his performance: ‘I love the fact that you have lost so much weight and you are taking this so serious. This is a real deal and Gary, Gary Barlow, he better be here next Saturday.’

Cher Lloyd is spot on as she tones down her look at the Radio 1 Teen Awards while host Mollie King undergoes several ‘Mariah Carey’ outfit changes
We’re used to seeing her in bling, belts and biker boots.

But Cher Lloyd looked glamorous as she decided to tone down her look at the Radio 1 Teen Awards this afternoon.

She got rid of the extra attachments and oped for a black and white polka dot jumpsuit.

The 18-year-old’s hair was pulled up messily and cascaded down one side of her face, with her fringe styled into a neat quiff.

The X Factor finalist performed at the awards at Wembley stadium today along with Jason Derulo, One Direction, Rizzle Kicks, Joe Jonas and Ed Sheeran.

X Factor winner Matt Cardle aims for credibility with move into rock
After winning the show, Matt was a mess, physically and mentally. Struggling with illness, he returned home to recover – and more worryingly, he found he seemed to have lost his gift for writing songs.

“X Factor itself was a pretty uninspiring situation to be in.

“I started writing a little bit early on as we were not doing much. The pressure hadn’t set in.

“As soon as the shows kicked off, it was insane. There was no time to even think about writing.

“I came out at Christmas, went home, picked up my guitar and there was just nothing there, I was like a robot ready to learn another cover.

“It took a couple of weeks of just relaxing. It was hard getting it back initially. Of course, I was worried when I couldn’t write. I thought it may have turned off the tap. But it didn’t, it opened it up even more.”

Friendly teasing or a bitchy dig? Cheryl Cole makes a jibe about Simon Cowell’s age on Twitter
It’s still unclear whether Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole have kissed and made-up after she was unceremoniously dumped from the US X Factor.

So was Cheryl Cole’s Twitter message to the music mogul yesterday about his age meant as affectionate teasing or a sneaky bit to revenge?

The Girls Aloud star took to her page on the social networking site to announced that it was Cowell’s birthday.

The boy about to be Britain’s Justin Bieber: Britain’s Got Talent’s Ronan Parke says nothing will stop him becoming a superstar
Ronan Parke doesn’t give two hoots if he’s picked on these days. ‘I’m living my dream. No one can spoil that, ’ he says, smiling shyly through his sweeping fringe. Which, given the brilliance of his eponymous debut album, Ronan Parke, is probably true.

Ronan, of course, is the 13-year-old runner-up from this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, on ITV1, whose astonishing voice made him the bookies’ favourite.

Indeed, we all seemed to take this angelic-faced child to our hearts – that is, until the nastiness started. An anonymous blogger posted a 2, 500-word essay claiming Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco, had signed Ronan two years earlier and coached him to win the show. Nastier still, the blogger claimed this sensitive child had been encouraged to camp up his act.

Rihanna’s latest single is the 6th song in a row to block Maroon 5 from #1. “Moves Like Jagger” spent the first two weeks of it’s chart run in the UK at #3 and then moved to #2. Every week the song gets blocked from the top spot. Rihanna’s song was released on Wednesday. Maroon 5’s chances to reach #1 in the coming weeks are pretty small. But without a doubt, “Moves Like Jagger” will be one of the best selling singles of the year in the UK.
