The Voice Knockout Rounds begin tonight!
Season 7 marks the return of the Knockouts, after production experimented with extending The Battle Rounds last season. It’s pointless and boring to have the singers battle for a second time against a different singer. The Knockouts allow the singers to choose their own songs, which highlights their strengths and/or weaknesses as an artist. I’m thrilled the round has returned!
Along for the ride this year is mega pop star, Taylor Swift, who will be helping coaches Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton shepherd their team members through the process.
Check out this sneak peak of Luke Wade and Taylor Phelan facing off against each other for Team Pharrell. Luke croons “Rich Girl” by Hall & Oates while Taylor sings “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit. I give Taylor all the points for his song choice! Which artist will Pharrell choose? Will the loser be stolen? (Each coach gets ONE steal)
Tune in TONIGHT as Kelly live blogs the performances 8/7c PM NBC.
Luke Wade and Taylor Phelan face each other in The Voice Knockouts.
The Knockouts air in 3 parts. Tonight (Oct 27), tomorrow (Oct 28) and next Monday (Nov 3). Next Tuesday (Nov 4) it’s the “Road to the Live Shows” (I SMELL A CLIP SHOW). The following week is a 3 parter! The LIVE PLAYOFF performances air on Monday (Nov 10) and Tuesday (Nov 11 – expanded to 2 hrs). The first LIVE results show airs on Wednesday (Nov 12).
