Singer-songwriter Ricky Duran, the runner-up from Team Blake Shelton on season 17 of The Voice, released a new single on Friday (Feb 26). “Selfish Love” is the second release from the singer’s upcoming EP (the first single having reached #1 on the iTunes Singer-songwriter chart.)  The tune is available to stream and download.

The song details the hard decision Ricky made to leave his hometown Boston to pursue music in Austin, TX.

“Ricky soulfully weaves the rhythmic, lullaby-like lyrics with his own guitar riffs, and strong nods to some of his biggest influences like Chris Stapleton and Ray LaMontagne,” says a press statement.

The self-written tune follows his most recent 2020 release, “She Closed Her Eyes,” and 2019 release “A Woman Like Her” which hit #1 on the iTunes Overall Charts.  Ricky also played lead guitar on season 19 winner, Jake Hoot’s cover of the classic “La Bamba.”

The isolation wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 allowed RIcky to immerse himself in his songwriting, preparing a project he is proud to share with his fans new and old alike. Fans can expect an EP release in the coming weeks featuring all original music.
