Just in time for Valentines Day, Jershika Maple dropped a studio version and music video for her cover of Natalie Cole’s classic hit “Inseparable.” She first performed the song as a contestant on The Voice 21 last fall. Her version was so good, it helped her win a Knockout against Paris Winningham’s “Tennessee Whiskey” for a spot on Team John Legend. Paris would go on to finish in 3rd place on Team Blake Shelton.
So, it’s understandable that she’d be extra grateful to Legend, who plucked her from Team Kelly Clarkson after she lost in the Battle Round.

“I’m really thankful to @nbcthevoice for the platform it allowed me to share so much great music & thank you to my coach @johnlegend for all the encouragement & advice you have given me,” Jershika wrote on Instagram. “So with that being said, it was only right to record my rendition Of “Inseparable”, by the beautiful late Natalie Cole. I Hope I made her proud.”
The former security guard fought every step of the way to a fifth place finish in The Voice 21 finale. Not only did Kelly let her go, but for two weeks of Live final competition, Jershika fought her way out of the bottom vote getters with showstopping performances of “What is Love” from Empire and Tasha Cobbs “Break Every Chain.”

Back in January the City of Killeen, where Jershika lives with her family, declared January 18 “Jershika Maple Day.” Jose Segarra, the mayor of Killen presented the singer with the declaration.
“Thank you So much, for declaring January 18th as Jershika Maple Day!,” Jershika wrote on Instagram. “So grateful to make such a positive impact in my community. Like he said this is only the beginning… the best is yet to come.”
“Jershika has made a positive impact on Killeen and a lasting positive impression of our community in the world,” the declaration states. “We congratulate our very own Jershika Maple for all that she has achieved and wish her a long and successful career.”
