The Voice’s Jake Hoot Drops Comedic ‘Night Left’ Music Video

Jake Hoot

Jake Hoot debuts the music video for his latest single, “Night Left.”

Directed by Taylor Ballantyne, The Voice season 17 winner plays two roles in the video; a stern dad to a teenage daughter, and his real-life character as a rising country star in the performance scenes.

According to the press release, Jake had a pivotal part in writing the treatment for the comedic video. Shot in the singer’s hometown of Cookeville, Tennessee, the local Putnam County police department dispatched their officers to break up the party scene where Jake (in his role as the artist), gets cuffed.

Since its July 23 release, “Night Left” has racked up more than 200K streams and has landed editorial placement on Spotify’s Country Rocks, Fresh Finds: Country and New Music Nashville, Apple Music’s New in Country and Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Country.

Written by Jake, Danny Myrick (Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw) and Kylie Sackley (Sam Hunt, Randy Houser) and produced by Myrick, Jake’s The Voice mentor, Kelly Clarkson calls the upbeat song “Country-Rock gold.”

The release of “Night Left” follows Jake’s debut EP released earlier this year, Love Out Of Time. Featuring the emotional duet with Kelly Clarkson, “I Would’ve Loved You” Love Out Of Time hit No. 2 on the iTunes all-genre albums as well as the country-specific chart upon its release.

Jake and Kelly performed the power ballad on The Voice season 19 semi-finals, The Kelly Clarkson Show and appeared on NBC’s Today with Hoda Kotb & Jenna Bush. To date, “I Would’ve Loved You” has amassed more than 8 million music video views, and more than 3 million organic streams.

Currently boasting more than 8 million streams, 90K downloads, five Grand Ole Opry appearances, 200K + social followers and more than 5 million YouTube views, Jake is on a nationwide tour across the US.
