The Voice season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery has dropped the official music video for her “Shallow” cover. The clip premiered live on Viacom’s Times Square billboard yesterday, May 15, as well as across a variety of CMT and MTV platforms. Her take on the song made famous by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper features fellow-Texan Parker McCollum.
“When I heard ‘Shallow’ from A Star Is Born for the first time, I was blown away. The lyrics, arrangement, Gaga’s voice and the emotion… I was just speechless,” shared Danielle. “Yet as a singer, I couldn’t wait to find a partner to record this song with.”
Danielle also recently performed the song live at Stagecoach, on the Mane Stage despite triple-digit temperatures. “A lot of people covered ‘Shallow,’” noted the Desert Sun, “and if it was a contest, the best version came from Danielle Bradbery.” The Coachella Valley Independent also praised her “star turn” as “one of the weekend’s highlights.”
Twenty-two-year-old Danielle released her sophomore album I Don’t Believe We’ve Met in December 2017 on BMLG Records. Through the new set, Danielle re-introduced herself after taking time since her debut LP to focus on the writing process. She penned seven of the album’s 10 tracks.
The singer will continue touring fairs and festivals throughout the summer before starring on the CMA Introducing Nashville Tour in the UK and Europe this October as she writes new music for her next album. “Shallow” follows “Yours Truly: 2018,” a year-end project which featured covers such as Ariana Grande’s “God Is a Woman,” Post Malone’s “Psycho” and Kacey Musgraves’ “Slow Burn.”
