Adam Levine returns to The Voice for season 27, alongside Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé and John Legend.

Adam Levine will return as The Voice coach for season 27 set to air Spring 2025. The Voice veteran will sit alongside new coach Kelsea Ballerini and returning coaches Michael Bublé and John Legend.

Adam Levine makes his comeback to The Voice after previously serving on the first 16 seasons of the show. NBC announced him as part of season 17 which aired in the fall of 2019. But he abruptly changed his mind after the announcement, and has not appeared on the series since. Gwen Stefani was quickly cast in The Maroon 5 frontman’s place.

The return of Levine is interesting, considering that by the end of his run, he seemed completely done with The Voice. In fact, when fans asked him, in a 2020 Instagram stories Q&A if he’d ever return to the show, Adam replied curtly, “Not thank you!”

Could over five years away from the show introduce a newly engaged Adam? The dynamics will be different, as he and former The Voice coach Blake Shelton played “frenemies” on the show, often playing off each other as they vied for the win (Blake won 9 seasons, more than any other coach, including Adam, who nabbed 3).

Kelsea Ballerini filled in as coach for Kelly Clarkson

Kelsea Ballerini, a multiple Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum country music artist and Grand Ole Opry inductee  is no stranger to The Voice. She previously served as season 16 battle advisor and filled in as coach during the season 20 Battle Rounds. Both instances were for Team Kelly Clarkson. Additionally, the singer served as coach for the online only competition, The Voice Comeback Stage, in 2018.

Vocal powerhouses Michael Bublé and John Legend take their red chairs for another spin, coaching a fresh crop of rising artists looking to be the next voice. The spring cycle boasts back-to-back seasons for Bublé and marks Legend’s milestone 10th season, after sitting out the fall 2024 cycle.

NBC recently announced Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani as coaches for season 26, coming this fall.
