What were your favorite performances from Monday night’s (March 12) The Voice season 14 Blind Auditions 5? I love me some singing shows, but watching four hours worth in one night is gonna kill me, I think. Mondays are going to be tough for the next couple of months. I much preferred the Monday/Tuesday Voice Wednesday/Thursday Idol schedule of old. Boo hoo woe is me.

Anyway…a big round of applause for Dana who will be filling in to recap The Voice on Mondays it’s up against American Idol. *clap clap*
My favorite performance tonight is a toss up between quirky ukulele girl, Livia Faith and Hannah Goebel, who performed a gorgeous “If I Ain’t Got You.” Big honorable mentions to Gary Edwards who really made “What’s Going On” his own and old school soul singer Tish Haynes Keys. Yes, Tish is very old fashioned, but she can SANG. I loved her tone and sass.
Coming into Monday’s show, numbers-wise, Adam was seriously behind his fellow panelists. But he’s finally caught up! Tuesday (March 13) is the last night of Blinds. Adam needs two more singers–Blake, Alicia and Kelly need one each. Nevertheless, Adam still has the worst team and Alicia the best. And the stupid “Block” gimmick is done for the season. Kelly was the last to use her one Block. And she actually managed to snag the singer she wanted (arguably the best singer of the night, Hannah Goebel) by blocking Alicia. Dang, Hannah even sang Alicia’s song. She had to be at least a little disappointed Alicia was blocked, right? In a recent interview, the coaches were insisting that the Block was about getting the best singers on their teams–not screwing with fellow panelists for the sake of drama. Yet, Alicia, Blake and Adam failed to woo the singer after their efforts. FAIL. The anti-contestant Block is dumb. The end.
