It’s here. The Voice season 12 finale. The thing about semi-finals: The way it’s constructed means something unexpected is probably going to happen. Between cutting the field of eight in half, to choosing the 4th finalist by twitter, there’s always going to be at least one surprising result. This time, it was front runner Team Gwen Stefani’s Hunter Plake. The singer killed it week after week on the iTunes chart, but in the end, he was bested in the Insta-Save by dark horse, Jesse Larson from Team Adam Levine.

Now that we’re down to the finals, and the insta-save is no longer in play, things are about to become a lot more predictable. Sure, surprises can happen at this stage of the game (Craig Wayne Boyd winning over iTunes champ, Matt McAndrew in Season 7), but usually they don’t.

Here’s how I believe the remaining four contestants stand:

4. Jesse Larson – Team Adam Levine – I wonder how Jesse feels about Jesus? Because at this point, he’ll need to pull out a big ole gospel tune if he has any chance whatsoever of finishing higher than 4th place.

3. Aliyah Moulden – Team Blake Shelton – Aliyah may be the real dark horse. As soon as Blake figured out what to do with her, she was unstoppable. She could possibly finish ahead of Chris Blue, but I don’t think so.

2. Chris Blue – Team Alicia Keys – If I had my way, Chris would take the crown. But as it stands now, he’ll come in 2nd place behind the singer that wrapped up this contestant a few weeks ago.

1. Lauren Duski – Team Blake Shelton – Lauren and Blake totally have this. If Blake wins, he’ll have won 50% of the time. Six wins out of 12 seasons. But he’s good ya’ll. The dude is ruthless and knows what he’s doing. Producers will just be happy to have another female winner, I think.
