The Voice ratings in the key 18-49 demo won the night for NBC as it nearly always does, with a 1.7 rating and 8.84 million average viewers. However, the numbers were down by 23 percent vs last fall’s 2.0 rating and 9.56 average viewers. The fall of 2017 scored a 2.6 rating. The previous The Voice spring cycle premiered with a 2.1 rating and 10.77 million average viewers. It’s the lowest rated premiere for The Voice ever, and the first time the premiere scored below a 2.0.

Dancing with the Stars garnered a 0.8 in the demo, which can’t make ABC very happy. And the numbers will likely be adjusted down in the final update due to Monday night football adjustments. Ouch! Last week, DWTS earned a 1.0 rating for its season premiere, dipping 2/10ths of a point.
