The Voice 27 Playoffs RENZO delivers rock soul star power on Hozier’s “Too Sweet”
The Voice 27 Playoffs Part 2 airs Monday night (May 5) featuring performances from Team John Legend and Team Michael Bublé. Ahead of the episode, which will determine the Top 8 heading to the live shows, NBC previewed a performance of Hozier’s “Too Sweet” from Team Legend’s RENZO.

The singer made another creative song choice, picking a popular alt-rock song to lend his creative R&B approach. He growled his way through the song while working the stage like a star, ending it all with a rock scream. RENZO brought drama and rock vibes to the Voice stage. During rehearsal, the singer was coached by John and celebrity playoffs mentor, LeAnn Rimes. Sheryl Crow mentored the artists from Team Bublé.

Adam Levine, still mad that John Blocked him from having Renzo on his team at the Blind Auditions, remarked, “My favorite part of that performance is the last four seconds.” He added, “I want more screamery. You have the best screaming voice in this competition. I feel like we haven’t heard enough of that. But man, I love you.”

“Let’s go a year from now,” Kelsea Ballerini imagined. “You put out a record. I bought it. Put out a t-shirt, I bought that too. Koozie? Mine I bought it!” She added, “You lean more into the R&B rock kind of combination. The flow of the two together is so interesting to me. I want more of it. There’s no way you’re not a part of this longer!”
“It just feels like you’re already a star”
John said, “It just feels like you’re already a star, making those records, doing all that amazing merch that Kelsea is going to buy,” He added, “If we are to go forward together, we want to make sure that we pick songs that take advantage of the raw side of your voice and make people feel that energy, that urgency.” He then twisted the knife, “I am still very glad I blocked Adam from you.”
John indicated that RENZO was the last of his five artists to perform. He said, “I’m proud of them. But I’m mad at them for making my decision so hard.”
