It’s time for The Playoffs to begin on Season 27 of The Voice!
The first night of Playoffs will feature members of Team Adam and Team Kelsea. After every member from each team performs, coaches Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini can only choose two members to move on to the live shows.
Mentor LeAnn Rimes will work with Team Adam and mentor Sheryl Crow will work with Team Kelsea.
Team Kelsea
Iris Herrera – “White Horse” by Chris Stapleton
Iris is bringing that rasp tonight! A raspy rocker is like a genre of its own and Iris fits the bill.
Michael says she has a 70s vibe. John says her voice was shredding. Adam says she’s hyper-believable. Kelsea says she did everything to the best she’s ever done it.
Jaelen Johnston – “If You’re Reading This” by Tim McGraw
Jaelen’s deep twang is perfect for this emotional ballad.
Adam says what Jaelen does it different in the country genre. Michael says he would put him through if he was Kelsea and wanted to win. Kelsea says Jaelen told a story while staying true to the heart of the lyrics.
Alanna Lynise – “Nobody Gets Me” by SZA
This felt like a Disney princess performance. Gorgeous tone throughout the entire song. Alanna sounds effortless.
John says she’s becoming a superstar. Michael agreed with John that she should be in the lives. Adam says her voice cuts. Kelsea says she loves that she’s down to put in the work.
Tinika Wyatt – “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe
This song is so perfect for Tinika’s voice and she really added her personality to it.
Adam says she’s become 10 times the singer she started out as. Michael says he was moved by it. John calls her voice glorious and beautiful. Kelsea says it was beautiful and she’s very special.
Darius J. – “Hey Ya!” by Outkast
This was a wildly creative rendition of this classic. Of all the things I expected to hear on this show, I never would have guessed this!
Adam says it was different and cool. Michael says he wants to come live with him under that hat. John says his voice was rich and he made a strong case for himself. Kelsea says she’s attracted to his artistry.
Team Adam
Lucia Flores-Wiseman – “In My Life” by The Beatles
Such a pretty, acoustic rendition of this song. Lucia nailed the falsetto too!
Kelsea says it was her favorite thing she’s seen on th show this season. Michael describes her as “inevitable,” “non-negotiable,” and she met the moment and crushed it. John says her gift shines through her. Adam says he’s never heard anyone like her and all of it is refreshingly hers.
Connor James – “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan
Such a perfect song for Connor! Connor is such an enthralling performer with a powerful voice to match.
John compared it to a musical at the Tony’s. Kelsea says viewers at home should rewind and watch again. Michael says he wanted to get up on stage and join him. Adam says Connor can sing anything and has established his own identity.
Kolby Kordell – “Finesse” by Bruno Mars
Kolby is groovin’ this time around!! Fun but not his best performance.
John says he loved the confidence and swagger. Michael says he’s a great contender. Kelsea says it felt like the kick-off performance at an award show. Adam says he’s one of the biggest and best on the show.
Ethan Eckenroad – “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron
Ethan has such a specific sound, like a James Bay, and this song fits perfectly in his tone.
Kelsea says she loves his voice. John notes he should be aware of his physical presence when he’s not with an instrument. Adam says he’s proud to have him represent his team.
Britton Moore – “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane
Britton is soaring through this song. His runs near the end!
Michael says he loved his interpretation of this song. Kelsea says no matter what happens, he’s got a big fanbase. John says he gave him Niall Horan vibes. Adam says he sang the crap out of the song.
Kelsea chooses Iris and Alanna.
Adam chooses Lucia and Kolby.
