I felt mostly blasé throughout the Blind Auditions about the talent from season 21. However, I quite enjoyed several of the Battles, and feel more encouraged about the singers overall all. I’m beginning to feels some season 21 excitement!
My favorite Battles include Jeremy Rosado vs Jershika Maple, BrittanyBree vs Samara Brown, and Girl Named Tom vs Kinsey Rose. I also have my eye on Lana Scott, Samuel Harness and David Vogel. Bella DeNapoli and Katie Rae are both talented singers. But I can’t get past how much I hated their song choice (“Enough is Enough” Ew).
As far as celebrity advisors are concerned–overall, they don’t add much? Kristin Chenoweth’s bits were laugh-out-loud hilarious. She’s a delight. Camila Cabello offered valuable perspective as a former talent show contestant (X Factor USA). But Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean were mostly useless.
Next week, the Battles end. The Knockouts begin on Monday October 25 with mega-mentor Ed Sheeran.
