It’s the last night of The Voice 21 Blind Auditions. The coaches teams are almost full, but that does not mean there is no room for more 4-chair turns.
It takes a minute or two for soulful crooner Aaron Hines to get a chair turn, but eventually Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande all hit their buttons for the singer’s silky cover of Giveon’s “Heartbreak Anniversary.”
When Aaron shares that John’s “All of Me” is a staple of his wedding playlist, the coach asks for a little sample. Aaron delivers ably as John harmonizes along with him. At this point, it looks like an uphill battle for the remaining coaches.
Kelly thinks he did a really good job of being “sincere and intimate” but also “giving us big notes.” OBVIOUSLY I’VE NAVIGATED A COMPETITION BEFORE, she says, once again mentioning American Idol without actually naming it.

Ariana loves his super-clean runs. She claims his tone almost got her to hit her button sooner. Blake points to his season 20 win with soulful singer Cam Anthony. He has a point, actually. Blake also does that thing where he accuses the other coaches of nefarious things. It’s Blake’s last resort move.
The coaches battle fiercely for Aaron, but you’ll have to tune in tonight (Oct 5) on NBC at 8 pm to find out who the singer chooses. The teams will be revealed before the Battle Rounds begin next Monday October 11.
