The Voice season 20 premieres on March 1. It’s 10 years since the now iconic singing competition hit the NBC airwaves.
In the new season, the line-up remains the same: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend will return to their big red chairs to choose and mentor new artists. Carson Daly will be back to host as well. BUT Nick Jonas will take the place of Gwen Stefani who is leaving the show for now. Nick was the new kid in town when he replaced Gwen for season 18. Currently, the two seem to be sharing a chair.
Because Nick is returning to the show, The Voice released a Nick-focused featurette to Youtube. And it’s a humorous look at Nick getting back into “shape” for the new The Voice season.
Fans get their first glimpse of Nick and the judges in the studio. The Jonas Brother has been practicing with phrases like “Shut up Blake!” And once they’re at work, he calls Blake a bully. A BIG bully. In his off time, he also worked on his “ear protection from Kelly.” Cue one of her patented screams!
While attempting to “intimidate” his competition, Nick warns his fellow judges: “John, I’m coming for you. Blake, buddy, you know I love you, but also, I’m coming for you. Kelly, I’ve missed you, but I’m also excited to crush you.”
In other words: Cue the HIJINKS!

Once the Blind Auditions complete, the coaches will pair up their team members for the Battle Rounds. Each coach has enlisted a celebrity advisor to help get the singers get ready for battle: Blake will work with Dan + Shay, Kelly will team up with Luis Fonsi, John joins forces with Brandy and Nick partners with Darren Criss.
The Voice season 20 premieres Monday March 1 at 8 pm on NBC.
