The second night of American Idol 2021 auditions air on Sunday (Feb 21). Check out a rundown of singers who will perform in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. The hopefuls will be doing their best to earn a golden ticket to the Hollywood Round.
Ryan Seacrest returns to competition series as host, and eventually radio and TV personality Bobby Bones will join the season as in-house mentor.
The night features a familiar face–Amanda Mena from America’s Got Talent. Poaching talent from Simon Cowell’s show is easy. Trish Kinane executive produces both shows. Look out for a teen rocker, a young singer who went viral, a teen singing duo who will audition as solos, and a familiar face from the Idol promos.

- Ace Stiles – Ace, a transgender teen, is an aspiring singer-songwriter. In an article from last year, the Tulsa singer describes his transition. A more recent article covers his motivation for auditioning for Idol, and thoughts about singing in front of the judges.
- Amanda Mena – Amanda has grown up a lot since she competed on America’s Got Talent season 13. She was eliminated as a semi-finalist, but before that, she won La Voz Kids Season 2 in 2014. Check out her AGT performances HERE. Her Youtube
- Anthony Guzman – He’s dressed up like a joke contestant in the photo, but he seems to be a serious artist, going by his Youtube channel.
- Calvin Upshaw – That header on your Facebook page dude. You should prolly change it. He’s a soul singer and songwriter who attends high school in St. Marks, Mississippi.
- Casey Bishop – Sixteen year old from Estero, Florida is “ready to rock out” according to this article. She sang Motley Crue’s “Live Wire” and “My Funny Valentine” in front of the judges. What a combo! She attends a high school for the arts, so she’s probably pretty good. There’s more about her love of singing rock songs. HERE.
- Cassandra Coleman – Look out for Cassandra, who has been featured a lot in promos. In his preview Blake calls “a mix of birdy and Fleetwood Mac.” Check out her Youtube
- Chayce Beckham – Check out Chayce’s singer-songwriter stylings on his Instagram.
- Hannah Everhart – Hannah is the “country Katy Perry” previewed on Thursday. Check out her leaked audition.
- Liahona Olayan and Ammon Olayan – This teen duo had a label deal and released some music a few years ago. But now they come together, but audition as solo artists on American Idol. According to this, they sang a solo each, and a duet (all original songs). The two grew up in Utah, but the family lived in Hawaii for awhile. Mom has Polynesian heritage. - Willie Spence – According to The Mirror (weird, I know), Willie went viral in 2018 after singing a rendition of Rihanna’s “Diamonds” with his classmates.
- Yurisbel – He looks like a total goofball in his photo, but “El Yuri” hopes to be the first Cuban American Idol. He moved to the US with his parents as a teen.
