When will The Voice season 20 premiere? We don’t know yet!
It’s SUPER WEIRD that NBC hasn’t announced the premiere date of The Voice season 20 yet! The network held a virtual Winter TCA earlier this week–the perfect time to make an announcement, but not a word.
The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly made it tough for networks to set schedules in stone (For instance, The Grammy’s moved from the end of January to March. There will be a Tony Awards ceremony, but CBS has yet to schedule the event).
NBC Keeps Pushing Up The Voice 20 Battle Round and Knockout Tapings
The Blind Auditions were taped back in October. NBC’s filming schedule seemed on track. But oddly enough, the Battle Round tapings have been rescheduled TWICE. First, it was set for Monday February 26 and Tuesday February 27. Then the dates moved to Monday February 1 and Tuesday February 3.
Now, the round is scheduled to tape on Friday February 5 and Saturday February 6. The Knockout taping schedule has changed as well. It moved from Friday February 5 to Saturday February 13 and Tuesday February 16.
The audience is once again virtual. Click this link for tickets!
Perhaps one of the coaches–Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend or Nick Jonas or host Carson Daly had a scheduling conflict. However, it is true that a surge in Coronavirus cases in Los Angeles has meant several scripted shows took a longer hiatus from filming after the holidays. Who knows!
Ellen’s Game of Games Airs Monday Nights on NBC at least through March 1
The Voice Season 20 will premiere on March 8 at the earliest. Taking a peek at schedules posted on Futon Critic, Ellen’s Game of Games will air on Monday nights at least through March 1. But the season could begin even later than March 8th if The Voice runs another 8 week season like it did in the fall.
The Voice 20 Battle Round Advisor Rumors!
A tiny tidbit: According to posters over at Idol Forums, during a taping, Blake mentioned that country duo Dan + Shay would mentor his Battle Round pairings.
As posted previously, The Voice season 20 will feature 40 contestants–10 on each team in the Blind Auditions. So far, there are no reports of major changes to the format. And at this point, we KNOW A LOT about season 20, because superfans from the message boards have taken part in the virtual audience. Watch this space for spoilers!
