The Voice Season 20 Begins Filming: The Coaches Lineup Has Changed!

The Voice season 20 kicked off filming the Blind Auditions on Sunday. And according to fans who attended the virtual taping, the coaches lineup for the new season is: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas.

It will be Nick’s second season sitting in the big red chair. He debuted as a The Voice coach on season 18 which aired spring 2020. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the season finished with the cast, crew and talent filming from home. However, filming for season 19 and 20 resumed at Universal Studios in Hollywood with extensive COVID-19 precautions that include quaranting, masking, social distancing and testing.

Nick has to be extremely careful. He’s young, but his Diabetes 1 diagnosis puts him in the at-risk category for Covid.

The current lineup for season 19, airing right now on NBC is Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Gwen Stefani. Gwen coached on season 17 after veteran coach, Adam Levine, suddenly quit the show.

I expect NBC will announce the new lineup shortly.

Meanwhile, for season 20 there will be 10 artists per team again. And of course, the block is still in play. The chair order is the same as season 18. The Voice season 20 will air midseason 2021 on NBC.
