The Voice 17 Premiere Spoilers: Contestants Plus Song and Team Choices

It’s time for a batch of The Voice spoilers! Find out who is singing what when The Voice season 17 premiere tonights (Sept 23) beginning at 8 pm on NBC. Warning! The info below is super-spoilery–if you don’t want to know which teams the singers choose, do NOT read on! Coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton are back in their big red chairs this season. However, veteran coach Adam Levine left the series after last spring. This will be the first season ever without him. Carson Daly returns as host.

The Voice Season 17 Contestant List Spoilers: Blinds, Battles, Knockouts

Katie Kadan – Baby I Love You by Aretha Franklin – (Watch a FULL preview of Katie’s audition HERE.) Four chair turn, but Blake BLOCKS Kelly. Blake’s block was all for naught. Katie picks Team Legend

Jake HaldenVang – Wish I Knew You – Age 24. He’s played rock music all of his life. A guitar player, he used to be in a band with his dad. He went solo and ended up forming his own blues rock band.  He starts in a high range–the coaches think he’s a woman at first.  Gwen, John and Blake turn. Jake picks Team Gwen

Jay Miah – Never Enough from The Greatest Showman – Age 30 from Tampa, Florida. Jay is a drag queen and does drag bingo on the weekend. However, he does not perform in drag. – NO TURNS

Brennan Lassiter – You Are My Sunshine – Country singer from South Carolina sings in church and was raised by her grandparents. She sings a countrified version of the song. It’s a four chair turn. They all beg her not to choose Blake. Brennan picks Team Kelly.

Rose Short – Preach by John Legend – She’s from Texas and was a correction officer for 8 years. Kelly and Gwen turn. Kelly tries hard to get her. Blake makes a joke that she sits in Adam Levine’s old chair, which is possessed. Rose picks Team Gwen

Will Breman – Say You Be Mine by The Spice Girls – Age 25 from Santa Barbara, CA. He has aspergers and plays guitar on the street. He started performing full time in wineries. He performs a jazz version of  the song on guitar. John and Gwen turn. Citing John as one of his influences, they sing “Ordinary People” together (Check out a clip HERE). He also likes Gwen’s band, No Doubt. Will picks Team Legend.

Alex Guthrie – Love and Happiness  – Age 25 from Georgia plays guitar and was in a commercial with former The Voice coach Jennifer Hudson. Kelly and Gwen turn. Alex Picks Team Kelly. After, Kelly chats with Jennifer on the phone.  

Kat Hammock – Vienna by Billy Joel- Age 18 from Encinitas, Calif. She listens to old school music with her dad. She accompanies herself on piano. Blake and Gwen turn. Kat picks Team Blake. It’s his first turn of the night (editing, though!)  

Cj Washington – So Tired of Being Alone by Al Green – Age 28 from Sacramento, is a father of two. No Turns  

Timmy Hood – Make it Rain by Ed Sheeran – Age 19 from Michigan has never performed before. Has a brother in the service whom he misses. The brother shows up and surprises him. – NO TURNS 

Marina Chello – Walk Me Home – Age 37 lives in New York by was originally from the Soviet Union. She moved to the US at 11. Currently, she’s married and amom. In 2007 Marina was was signed by Bad Boy Records, but it didn’t work out. Blake and Kelly turn. Marina picks Team Blake

Kyndal Inskeep – Never Been to Spain – Age 22 moved to Nashville 9 months ago. She performs 4-6 nights a week and nannies during the day. After her parents got divorced, she dealt with anxiety and depression. Kelly, Gwen and Blake turn. Gwen BLOCKS Blake, suggests to the singer that Kelly is too busy with her talk show and young kids. Still, Kyndal picks Team Kelly

Kelly and Gwen have Team Jackets
Kelly tells at least three people that they can win the show or make it to the finale.
The show seem fresh without Adam. However, the Blake and Gwen romance talk may get old quick.
