The Masked Singer 13 Lucky Six: Who Was Unmasked?
The Masked Singer season 13 continues with Nick Cannon as host, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora on the panel.
It’s time for the Lucky Six, featuring the remaining six contestants including Paparazzo, Boogie Woogie, Nessy, Coral, Pearl and Mad Scientist. One celebrity will be unmasked by the end of the night.
Mad Scientist
Clues: He’s played sports, and he didn’t get here alone. He’s not Keith Urban (duh!), but they have shared a stage together. Tennessee Flag.
Performance: There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back by Shawn Mendes – For those craving a twangy version of a Shawn Mendes hit? YOU’RE IN LUCK TONIGHT. Some songs aren’t meant to be countrified. The panelists will conduct 30 second Q&As. He drives a Ford Raptor. He’s won many awards. He’s way younger than Ken. Stupid questions! Jenny guesses Kenny Chesney. Robin guesses Trace Adkins. Rita guesses Tim McGraw.
Prediction: The internets are convinced that Mad Scientist is Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line. One clue, a cruise ship, points the their massive hit “Cruise.” Also, Mad Scientist hints at being an athlete. Brian Kelley was scouted by baseball teams, but ended up writing and playing music instead. During last week’s clue package, he seemed to be talking about the bitter break up with his duo mate, Tyler Hubbard.
Nessy
Clues: He’s usually a private guy. He is not Pat Monahan. He is Touring in 2025.
Performance: Stargazing by Myles Smith – Nessy is obviously a pop singer. He’s iffy on the high notes. Sorry, no autotune here. Robin thinks he gave himself away. Jenny conducts the Q&A. He has kids, loves Tik Tok and follows Jenny. He has a famous love song. Maybe the most famous. Robin guesses Edwin McCain (CORRECT!). Ken calls it a “stupid guess” (NO) he guesses Sting. Oy. Rita guesses Dave Matthews.
Prediction: The internets agree with Robin. Nessy is Edwin McCain. The show has teased over and over that Nessy recorded a beloved love song, which is “I’ll Be” a singing show and wedding song favorite.
Coral
Clues: She can do more than just sing. She’s from a huge franchise. Demi Lovato (Mouse) is a clue.
Performance: Ain’t it Fun by Paramore – She’s a decent generic Disney type singer, with choreography! Rita asks questions: The franchise is connected to Rita. Coral and Rita aren’t friends (yet). Jenny guesses Rachel Ziegler. Ken guesses Selena Gomez. Robin guesses Brittany Snow.
Prediction: Lots of fans believe Coral is actress-singer Meg Donnelly from the Disney Zombies franchise.
Paparazzo
Clues: He’s never sung before. The song pick is a clue. Danielle Fishel is a clue (she delivers a clue in person).
Performance: Unpretty by TLC – So far, Paparazzo is the weakest singer. Maybe he never sang for a good reason! Robin asks the questions. He’s been on TMZ and a bunch of TV shows. He’s never met Rita. Rita thinks the questions were bad. They were! Rita guesses Jason ? Ken guesses Ben Savage. Jenny guesses Matthew Lawrence (CORRECT).
Prediction: Many online believe Paparazzo is Matthew Lawrence who appeared in the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles with Steve Martin. Plus Matthew starred in Mrs. Doubtfire with Robin Williams. He’s done a bunch of voice overs. And, Matthew was born Matthew William Mignogna according to Wiki–so Italian but changed his name. Matthew appeared on Boy Meets World with Danielle Fishel.
Pearl
Clues: She is not Shania Twain. Elvis is a clue.
Performance: Conga by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine – Pearl manages NOT to twang it up too much. But she IS a country singer. If any of the panelists were country music fans, they would know this recognizable voice. Ken’s turn again to question. Candy is her favorite food. She’s better than a gold record holder. These questions are terrible. Jenny guesses Faith Hill. Robin guesses Jody Watley (WHAT?) Rita guesses Pat Benatar. These guesses are pathetic. And that sparkly Elvis sign has NOTHING to do with Mr. Costello.
Prediction: The internets say Pearl is “Red Necked Woman” singer Gretchen Wilson. She delivered big country hits in the aughts.
Boogie Woogie
Clues: His kids love the show. Statue of Liberty with a guitar.
Performance: Unsteady by X Ambassadors. – Boogie Woogie is the best singer and all around performer remaining. Pearl and Mad Scientist are also contenders. Jenny returns to ask more questions. Boogie can rollerblade. He’s famous for his voice. He loves basketball. Jenny has never interviewed him. Ken guesses Chris Martin. HE DOES NOT SOUND LIKE CHRIS. Rita guesses Darren Criss. (NOPE). Robin guesses Ryan Tedder.
Prediction: The interments are adamant that Boogie Woogie is singer Andy Grammer. His wiki says he busked in Santa Monica (a clue from week 1). Very obvious clues from week 2 included The Mirror Ball and dancing shoes. Andy competed in Dancing with the Stars. Also he is known for his positivity. Peep his Insta, he’s always offering uplifting messages.
More clues: Andy released an album titled “Naive.” This week, the “Bones” clue that had Ken guessing Ryan Tedder actually refers to Andy, who co-wrote the song. Additionally, Boogie Woogie spoke of his mother passing. Here’s an article about Andy’s mother passing. He launched a campaign in 2013 for women’s equality in her honor.
A Celebrity GOES HOME. Who is it?
The audience and panel vote. The celebrity unmasking tonight is Paparazzo. He IS the weakest singer of the six. I thought maybe Nessy was biting it. However, there were TWO celebrities that the panel figured out. And usually when a panelist guesses correctly, the celebrity goes home. The Crack the Case Clue: Paparazzo has a famous family and a reptile zoo. Final guesses Ken: Ben Savage. Rita: Jason Ritter. Robin: Frankie Muniz, Jenny: Matthew Lawrence. And Paparazzo is Matthew Lawrence. All his life he has been afraid to sing, so he did it behind a mask. Matthew is dating a member of TLC, who helped him prepare his performance.
