The Masked Singer 11 Group C Finals: Who Was Unmasked on Shower Anthems Night?
The Masked Singer season 11 Group C concludes on week 4 with the FINALS. Nick Cannon hosts, while Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong sit on the judges panel alongside new judge, Rita Ora.
The returning mystery celebrities include the same contestants as last week, as the wildcard aka Billy Bush, left the competition. Lizard, Clock, and Poodle Moth fight for the final spots in the next round. TWO celebrities will be unmasked by the end of the night. Unless the judges use the DING DONG KEEP IT ON BELL! They can only use it ONCE.
The show opens with an epic group number from all three masks. “I’m Singing in the Shower.”
Clock
Clues: She loves a curtain call. “Sweet” and “diva hits.” She was nominated for an award against Natalie Cole and Aretha. She skipped out on the ceremony. But she won!
Performance: Respect by Aretha Franklin – Will this legendary diva be unmasked tonight? The older ladies often go home early. Can you imagine Gladys Knight finishing 3rd? Miss Dionne Warwick only lasting a couple rounds? That’s how it goes on The Masked Singer. Tonight is Clock’s best performance yet. On Stage Clue: Clock is connected to Nick Cannon. “Nicholas this isn’t the first time you’ve roasted me.” Jenny guesses Debbie Allen. Rita guesses Denise Williams. Ken guesses Diana Ross (again).
PREDICTION: The internets say Clock is Disco queen, Thelma Houston. Her “Don’t Leave Me This Way” was a No. 1 Billboard hit and it won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the Grammys in 1977.
Lizard
Clues: He’s going full Emo. He was living two lives as a teen. Straight As at home, but he ran the streets by night and got arrested. Justin Timberlake is a clue. Eventually, he put the dark days behind him.
Performance: Bring Me to Life by Evanescence – Lizard is athletic. His song choice last week was better. This song is made for a singer with a big voice. His delivery is boring. Lizard might be going home tonight, unless he’s saved. On Stage Clue: Lizard is connected to Rita “I’m honored to say, we both won the same out of this world award.” Rita thinks the clue points to the MTV awards. She guesses Sisqo, like last week. Robin agrees with her. Jenny guesses DeAngelo. Ken guesses Michael Bivins from New Edition.
Poodle Moth
Clues: Music is Poodle’s therapy. She cries in the shower. 3 is a clue. Her family home got sold. Her childhood was sad. But her past taught her resiliency.
Performance: The House that Built Me by Miranda Lambert – It’s Poodle Moth’s strongest performance so far on the show. It’s as if she’s performed this song before. Or at least, the song is in her wheelhouse. Rita is fake crying! On Stage Clue: Poodle is connected to Robin “Working with your dad is one of the biggest moments in my career.” She chokes up. Rita guesses Sharon Stone. Oh Lord no. Ken guesses Brooke Shields. Robin guesses Shania Twain. Robin says the country singer stayed at his dad’s house as she tried to get a record deal.
PREDICTION: Jenny is SO CLOSE. She guesses Mandy Moore from the network drama This is Us because of the “3” clue. (The drama centers on triplet siblings). Mandy played the mom. But Poodle is most certainly Chrissy Metz, who played one of the kids. She’s a country singer who has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry. Robin’s late father guest starred on the show.
RESULTS – First Elimination
The first singer unmasking tonight is…Lizard! It’s all for the best. Robin and Rita guessed this one correctly, for sure. Final guesses – Jenny: Ray J. Ken: Michael Bivins Robin and Rita: Sisqo. And the Lizard is SISQO! Nick, of course, knew it was him. His family loves the show. So he did it. And so many people used him as a guess in the past. He departs the show with a bit of his one hit “Thong Song.”
Battle Royale
Clock and Poodle Moth sing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” in their own style. The song fits perfectly in Clock’s wheelhouse. Will Poodle Moth add some country twang? No. She sings it R&B and can’t match Clock. The panel should choose Clock, but they might use the save. Will they?
Second Elimination (Panel uses SAVE)
The votes are in. The winner of the Battle Royale is…Clock! As it should be. Clock will move on to the next round. Final guesses: Robin: Shania Twain. Jenny: Mandy Moore. SO CLOSE. Ken guesses Brooke Shields. Rita guesses Sharon Stone. The crowd begins shouting for the bell. AND THE PANEL SAVES POODLE MOTH! She will also advance to the next round. The panel were all moved by her story. Jenny ALMOST GOT IT.
