The Masked Singer 11 Group B Returns: Who Was Unmasked on Girl Group Night?

The Masked Singer season 11 Group B RETURNS with a night devoted to iconic pop Girl Groups. Nick Cannon hosts, while Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong sit on the judges panel alongside new judge, Rita Ora.

The returning mystery celebrities include Group B contestants The Beets, Cleocatra and Gumball. Plus, it’s time for a new WILDCARD. ONE celebrity will be unmasked by the end of the night. The Group B FINAL is next week.

The show opens with the cast performing Spice Girls’ “Wannabe.” Plus, Lambs trio member Carnie Wilson and former Black Widow mask Raven Symone drop by.

Cleocatra

Clues: She had her own gang of girls who shaped her. Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg. Michelle Obama and her mother. Little princesses see her as their queen.

Performance: Free Your Mind by En Vogue – Cleocatra is quite obviously an older entertainer. She sings in a ribald contralto. She takes the stage with a lot of attitude and verve. I wouldn’t mess with her. They set her in a royal throne for her On Stage Clue. Carnie Wilson delivers the clue by way of a “karaoke” version of a girl group tune. She sings “Stop in the Name of Love.” Cleocatra says, “The Supremes aren’t just on my playlist, they are a part of my career.” Rita guesses Roberta Flack. Robin guesses Loretta Devine. Ken guesses Jennifer Lewis.

Beats

Clues: I was the total ladies man and I was the tough guy. Two guys who couldn’t be more different. Delicious duo. We’re still touring, hitting the town. Who needs these stinking clues. We know who Beets are.

Performance: I’m So Excited by Pointer Sisters – Every American Idol fan knows Beets are Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, the winner and runner-up respectively of season 3. Clay sang the first verse, while Ruben picked up the second. The two are such easy duet partners because they’ve been singing together for years. Rayvon Simone delivers their clue. She sings “Weak” by SWV. Beets say “We made our audience weak in the knees on Broadway.” (Clay and Reuben did a Christmas revue on Broadway) Robin thinks they are country HA HA HA HE GUESSES BROOKS AND DUNN. NOOOOO. Jenny guesses Titus Burgess and Alan Cumming. Rita is sticking with “Actors who pretend to be good singers” she guesses Zach Braff and Donald Faison from Scrubs. If Nicole Scherzinger was on the panel, she MIGHT have guessed it already.

Gumball

Clues: He talks about meeting his wife. But then she was diagnosed with a terrible disease. “Prom King.”

Performance: Wide Open Spaces” by Chicks – He has a nice voice, but he’s probably not a singer? Oh look. An audience member wiping away a fake tear. It might not even be connected to the performance! Carnie Wilson is back to sing “Don’t Cha” by Pussycat Dolls. “Don’t you wish you could have starred with Channing Tatum like me.” Rita guesses Aaron Taylor Johnson. Jenny guesses Derek Hough. Hm. His wife had an aneurysm, but it’s not a chronic issue. Ken guesses Taran Killam. His wife was diagnosed with cancer.

Prediction: The internets say Gumball is actor Scott Porter. His wife has Huntingdon’s disease. He starred in Dear John with Channing Tatum. He’s played several superhero characters. And based on the clues from last time, he got his start performing in theme parts. Scott starred in Friday Night Lights and appeared in Hart of Dixie and The Good Wife. Porter is a good guess. Seal – Wildcard

Clues: Cute, cuddly and friendly. He was perceived as a wild child. Posters on people’s walls. He was in one of the most famous group in the world.

Performance: Hold On by Wilson Phillips – He was in a famous group? He’s not a great singer. Maybe he plays an instrument. The song arrangement is kind of punky. Maybe he was in a boy band. Or it’s a different type of “group.” Rayven is back out. She sings Bo$$ by Fifth Harmony. Seal says, “It’s easy to be confident when you have a boss like Steven Spielberg.” Ken guesses Haley Joel Osment. Jenny guesses Corey Feldman. Oh maybe! Good guess. Robin guesses Sean Astin.

Prediction: The internets are going with the Corey Feldman guess, and I agree. There are a bunch of Goonies clues in their including the treasure chest. The reference to “wild child” when he was young. Corey and his late friend Corey Haim had bad reputations. Plus, I’ve heard Corey sing. He tries a lot, but he’s not very good.

First Results – Smackdown

The two singers facing off in the Smackdown, via audience votes is…Cleocatra and Seal! Beats and Gumball are SAFE! The two will sing the same song in their own style. Cleocatra sings Waterfalls by TLC in a very strange…like a jazzy Broadway style? It’s kind of weird. She sings while sitting on her golden throne. Seal does a rock version of the song. His version is odd too. The panel chooses who goes home.

Second Results – Who will be unmasked?

The singer taking the final spot in the Group B finals is…Seal! Cleocatra is eliminated. Why does the panel act surprised when Nick announces the loser? They picked them! Final guesses: Rita: Roberta Flack. Robin: Loretta Devine. Ken: Jennifer Lewis. Jenny: Loretta Devine. Cleocatra is Jennifer Lewis from Blackish and Broadway. And Ken got another one correct! Last week, he correctly guessed Starfish as Kate Flannery. Jenny sings out with “Free Your Mind.”
