The Masked Singer 10 will premiere after the NFL Double Header on Sunday Sept 10.

The Masked Singer will kick off it’s landmark 10th season earlier than anticipated.

The new season will start with a special premiere episode that will air immediately following the NFL Double Header on Sunday September 10. The premiere episode, according to Entertainment Weekly, will air immediately following the NFL Double Header on Sunday, Sept. 10. The show will feature a special celebrity performance, clues, panelist guesses, and a reveal, with Fox calling it “one of the biggest, can’t-miss unmaskings in the show’s history.”

Fan favorite alums set to return

The episode will also feature fan favorite The Masked Singer alums paired up for special performances. They include Michelle Williams (Butterfly season 2) and Rumer Willis (Lion season 1), Joey Fatone (Rabbit season 1) and Bow Wow (Frog season 3), and Victor Oladipo (Thingamajig season 1) and Barry Zito (Rhino season 3) who will perform all-new UNMASKED duets.

The season 10 competition will officially begin in the previously announced premiere airing on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The competition will include an all-new format with three groups of singers, which will feature special Battle Royale semi-final episodes for EACH group. Season 10 will feature 16 total masked contestants, which will include Donut, Anteater, Hawk, Hibiscus, and S’More.

Format tweaks include the return of Wildcards and a scaled back save

Additionally, one Wild Card will be introduced to each group. The “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell will return in the Battle Royale semi-final episodes, where the judges can choose to save JUST ONE contestant from elimination and move them directly to the finale. (Last season, the judges could save one contestant in each of the three rounds).

Here are your season 10 themes!

Themed episodes will include “Trolls Night,” ahead of the November release of DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together; a “Harry Potter Night” episode airing the week of Halloween; and an Elton John themed episode featuring songs from his extraordinary catalog. Rounding out the season will be themes such as “NFL Night,” “One Hit Wonders,” “Disco,” “2000s Night,” “I Wanna Rock,” and “Soundtrack of My Life.”

Nick Cannon will host while Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke rounds out the panel. All through the season, fan favorite celebrities from previous seasons will return to The Masked Singer stage with special performances. Former contestants will also lend their hit songs to the Battle Royale semi-final competition in each group.

The special premiere episode will air on Fox Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT (live to all time zones). Season 10 competition will start Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
