The Amazing Race 37 Recap – Week 10 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

Tonight the teams will travel by plane to Frankfurt, Germany and then a train to Strasbourg, France. They will find their next clue at the Council of Europe. All the teams book their tickets and end up boarding the same train to Strasbourg. They all get into marked cars and drive themselves to the Council of Europe.

Han & Holden are the first to arrive at the Council of Europe. Jonathan & Ana and Carson & Jack arrive there next, but they have to wait five minutes for it to open. Meanwhile, Brett & Mark get lost on the way there.

The Council of Europe opens, and they must correctly answer a question to receive their next clue. They need to name the countries they’ve visited that are part of the Council of Europe. The answer is Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, and France. Carson & Jack, Han & Holden, and Jonathan & Ana all answer it correctly. Alyssa & Josiah give two incorrect answers, but they finally get it right. They get their next clue and learn their next destination: Pont Couverts. They also compete in a Head-to-Head challenge here. Brett & Mark are still lost.

Han & Holden arrive at Pont Couverts first. They learn they have a Roadblock, which is the Head-to-Head. One team member must compete against another team member in water jousting. They will have to knock the other person into the water. If they lose, then they need to wait to compete against the next team. The team that fails to win any matches will receive a 10-minute penalty. Han chooses to do the Roadblock. Carson & Jack arrive next, and Carson chooses to do the Roadblock.

Han and Carson attempt the first Head-to-Head. As they’re getting ready, we see Brett & Mark stop to ask for directions. Han ends up knocking Carson into the water. She and Holden get their next clue. They learn they must proceed to La Cloche a Fromage. Carson vs. Jonathan is next. Neither of them knock the other down, but Jonathan loses his footing and falls into the water. Carson wins, and he and Jack can proceed to La Cloche a Fromage.

Brett & Mark finally arrive at the Council of Europe. They answer the question correctly, and they can proceed to Pont Couverts. Meanwhile, Han & Holden arrive at La Cloche a Fromage. They must identify nine cheeses and name them correctly.

Back at the Head-to-Head, Jonathan vs. Josiah is next. Josiah falls into the water, so Jonathan & Ana can make their way to the cheese shop. Brett & Mark finally arrive. Mark chooses to do the Roadblock. Josiah vs. Mark will be the final Head-to-Head. The one who falls into the water will get a penalty for his team. Mark falls into the water, so he and Brett will remain in last place with a 10-minute penalty.

Carson & Jack arrive at the cheese shop and join Han & Holden. Jonathan & Ana and Alyssa & Josiah arrive before any team completes the challenge. Alyssa wants them to use the Express Pass, but Josiah is unsure. Brett & Mark arrive too, which adds pressure to complete the task. Alyssa & Josiah fail their first attempt, but they will try one more time before using the Express Pass.

Han & Holden complete the task after their 11th attempt. They get their next clue and learn they must proceed to Strasbourg Cathedral. Carson & Jack and Jonathan & Ana are the next teams to complete the cheese task. Alyssa & Josiah still haven’t used their Express Pass; they’re giving the cheese task another attempt.

We next see Han & Holden and Carson & Jack climb up a staircase to the top of the cathedral. They see the clue box and learn they have a Detour to complete. Out To Dry requires teams to wash a tub full of dirty garments. For The Birds requires teams to build a structure for a bird’s nest. Han & Holden and Carson & Jack choose the Out To Dry Detour. After they leave, Jonathan & Ana climb up the stairs and get their next clue. Jonathan says they’ll pick their Detour when they get back to the car.

Han & Holden bicker with each other as they get directions, as do Jonathan & Ana. Jonathan is especially getting impatient. Back at the cheese task, Brett & Mark are making more progress than Alyssa & Josiah. Alyssa & Josiah still wonder if they should use the Express Pass. Josiah believes they can complete the task, but Alyssa says they’re wasting time the longer they stay there if they do end up using the Express Pass.

Alyssa & Josiah use their Express Pass. They can make their way to the cathedral, but Brett & Mark complete the cheese task right afterwards. Alyssa & Josiah took too much time to decide to use their Express Pass, so it might end up being a waste. Alyssa & Josiah end up choosing the For The Birds Detour. Brett & Mark also choose For The Birds.

Carson & Jack get started on the Out To Dry Detour. The other teams are driving to their chosen Detours, but Jonathan & Ana and Alyssa & Josiah are struggling with directions. Brett & Mark end up being the second team to arrive at their Detour. They get started on the For The Birds Detour. Some time later, Alyssa & Josiah join Brett & Mark at the Detour.

Jonathan & Ana continue bickering in the car. Jonathan accuses Ana of not having her bearings and he needs to take over, but Ana says Jonathan isn’t doing anything to help. Jonathan rolls his eyes at her.

Shortly after Han & Holden arrive at the Out To Dry Detour, Carson & Jack complete it. They get their next clue and learn they can proceed to the Pit Stop: Table D’Orientation. Back at the For The Birds Detour, Brett & Mark and Alyssa & Josiah’s structures don’t pass the first inspection. As they continue to struggle with the task, Jonathan & Ana arrive at the Out To Dry Detour.

Carson & Jack arrive at the Pit Stop. Phil gives them the good news. Carson & Jack are Team #1! They have won Expedia OneKeyCash for a trip to Helsinki, Finland. Back at the For The Birds Detour, Alyssa & Josiah complete the task. They can now proceed to the Pit Stop. Brett & Mark are still working on it, but they believe they’re getting close. They complete the task and get their next clue while Alyssa & Josiah are still getting directions to the Pit Stop. Brett & Mark choose to follow Alyssa & Josiah instead of stopping to ask for directions.

Jonathan & Ana are the next team to complete the Out To Dry Detour. They can now proceed to the Pit Stop. Han & Holden’s laundry hasn’t been washed properly yet, so they must continue. They eventually complete it, but they are currently in last place.

We see Jonathan & Ana and Han & Holden stop to ask for directions. Meanwhile, Brett & Mark get lost and see Han & Holden drive past them. As Ana is driving to the Pit Stop, Jonathan tells her to drive faster. Alyssa & Josiah have to stop and ask a local for directions. Alyssa & Josiah arrive at the Pit Stop next. Alyssa is in tears as she thinks they have been eliminated. However, Phil gives her and Josiah the good news. They are Team #2, and they’re still in the race.

Jonathan & Ana are the next team to arrive at the Pit Stop. They are Team #3. While they are still on the mat, Han & Holden join them as Team #4. Some time later after they left, Brett & Mark finally arrive at the Pit Stop. Phil gives them the bad news. Brett & Mark have been eliminated from the race. They are disappointed, but they are grateful to have run the race together.
