The Masked Singer 13 Finale: And the Winner Is… (FOUR Unmasked!)

The Masked Singer 13 Finale: And the winner is…. FOUR Unmasked!

The Masked Singer season 13 comes to a conclusion with Nick Cannon as host, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora on the panel.

At the end of last week’s Semi-Final, fans learned that NOBODY would be leaving the competition and that the FOUR remaining celebrities would be competing in tonight’s 2 HOUR Finale. However, there can only be ONE winner. Boogie Woogie, Coral, Pearl and Mad Scientist will take the stage and ALL will be UNMASKED by the end of the episode.

The show opens with Rita Ora singing Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan. Eventually, the four finalists join her on stage to sing.

Pearl

Clues: Hoodie and sweatpants are more what she’s like–gritty and raw. Her personality stood in the way of her success.

Performance: Black Horse and the Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall – Can’t believe people are still singing this oldie on singing shows. Remember when Katharine McPhee sang it on American Idol? Regardless, Pearl has shown the most versatility on stage. She’s a front runner for sure, especially after that raspy, rocky performance. Each of the contestants will receive a phone call from someone close. Pearl’s adult daughter called in. The judges are saving their guesses until the end.

Coral

Clues: She loved old Hollywood movies. She became a part of a huge franchise. She wants to be a pop star.

Performance: Moon River by Audrey Hepburn – Good song choice for a singer who doesn’t have a wide range. It’s very sweet and emotional–no be notes required. Coral’s phone call is from her father. He’s incredibly proud of her. These phone calls have NO clues. Jenny namechecks Rachel Zeigler. Rita mentions Zombies and Meg Donnelly. But doesn’t land on her definitively. Robin mentions the movie Pitch Perfect.

Boogie Woogie

Clues: Back when he got started he was a starving artist. A neighbor complained about his singing. He learned how to pierce through the pain.

Performance: Freedom! 90 by George Michael – Boogie is probably the third place singer in the competition. He’s the best performer of the four contestants, but Pearl and Mad Scientist are better singers. Boogie’s call is from his young daughter. “That’s my little boogie.” He adds, “Positivity and sincerity can win.” Ken is stuck on Ed Sheeran.

Mad Scientist Monster

Clues: Mad thought he’d be an athlete. His dad encouraged him to be a musician. When his group parted ways, his dad gave him strength to go out on his own. “Going solo was right after all.”

Performance: Stay by Sugarland – The last solo of the night is a big emotional ballad. If Mad doesn’t win, he’ll probably come in second place. Unlike Pears, Mad Scientist has either performed country songs or countrified songs from other genres. Here come the FAKE TEARS from the panel. Heh. He tells Robin, “You’re still not getting back what I took from you.” The phone call comes from Mad Scientists mom and dad both! “You are competitive, you worked really hard.” Jennifer mentions Brian Kelley and Florida Georgia Line. (It’s Brian). Ken is stuck on Billy Ray Cyrus.

The audience and panel vote. The TWO singers with the most votes will be safe. The BOTTOM TWO UNMASK.

First Result TWO UNMASK

The votes are in. The first singer to TAKE IT OFF IS Mad Scientist Monster. OK that’s a shock! He’s a good singer. Maybe because Jenny guessed who he is (Masked Singer IS kinda rigged. I stand by that!) Mad Scientist Monster’s final clue. It’s a Tarpon necklace. Final guesses: Rita: Sam Hunt. Robin: Trace Adkins. Jenny: Brian Kelley. Ken: Kane Brown. AND MAD SCIENTIST MONSTER IS BRIAN KELLEY OF FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE. Jenny wins. Brian “stole” Robin’s AMA in 2013. He sings out with the Shabouzy song.

The second singer to TAKE IT OFF IS CORAL. Coral’s last clue is a cheerleader outfit. “This uniform changed my life and now people cheer for me.” Final guesses Rita: Meg Donnelly. Jenny: Hailee Steinfeld. Robin: Britany Snow. Ken: Peyton List. AND CORAL IS MEG DONNELLY. Rita wins. Meg stars in the Disney franchise Zombies. She plays a cheerleader. She sings out with Ain’t it Fun by Paramore.

Boogie Woogie and Peal will perform again

Boogie Woogie

Love the Hell Out of You by Lewis Capaldi – Boogie ends his run with an emotional ballad and he delivers it like a person who wants to win. Here come the “tears” from the panel! He’s got a bejeweled gospel choir! He hopes to win and share his trophy with his daughters.

Pearl

I’ll Stand by You by The Pretenders – Pearl is also ending her run with a ballad. She’s a better and more versatile singer than Boogie Woogie. Will this last performance seal the win for her? She also gets the big gospel choir, but in different costumes. Ken is “crying.” Competing will prove that she’s more than the “one thing” people know her as.

The panel and judges panel will vote for the winner. The results are next, including unmasking the winner!

WINNER REVEALED TWO UNMASKED

The votes are in. The Season 13 winner of The Masked Singer is…Pearl. Yep. I got that one right.

But first, Boogie Woogie will be UNMASKED. Final clue: A pink ribbon. “I lost my mom to breast cancer. I do a lot of work to raise awareness and money.” Final guesses. Jenny: Ryan Tedder. Robin: Daniel Powter. Ken: Ed Sheeran. Rita: Darren Criss. NOBODY GUESSED IT CORRECTLY. And Boogie Woogie is…Andy Grammer! The internets knew. His most recent album is called Monster. He sings out with his own song “Do Not Give Up On Me.” He sings the entire song.

And now, WINNER PEARL UNMASKS. Last clue: An outfit that Dolly Parton gave her. The two performed together. Final guesses: Ken: Ann Wilson. Rita: Natalie Maines Jenny: Trisha Yearwood. Robin: Gretchen Wilson ROBIN AND JENNY WILL HAVE TO SPLIT THAT TROPHY. And THE MASKED SINGER WINNER Pearl is Gretchen Wilson. Gretchen sings out with her massive country hit “Red Necked Woman.”

Oh. The Masked Singer will not return until January. FOX is skipping a cycle.

The Masked Singer 13 Results:

4. Mad Scientist Monster – Brian Kelley (Florida Georgia Line)
3. Coral – Meg Donnelly (Zombies franchise)
2. Boogie Woogie – Andy Grammer
WINNER – Pearl – Gretchen Wilson
