The Amazing Race 37 Recap – Winner Revealed in Miami

The season finale of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

The episode picks up where we left off last night. Jonathan & Ana and Alyssa & Josiah are in a race to get to the Pit Stop. Both teams complete the mosaic puzzle around the same time, but Jonathan & Ana are slightly ahead. Both teams scramble as they try to find the Pit Stop location. Which team will greet Phil before the other?

Jonathan & Ana greet Phil at the Pit Stop. They have made it to the Final 3. Alyssa & Josiah arrive afterwards and get the bad news. Alyssa & Josiah have been eliminated from the race. They’re disappointed they missed out on the finals, but they’re thankful for the experience. They’re proud of themselves too.

The final 3 fly to Miami

The Final 3 teams will now fly to their final destination: Miami, Florida. Once they land, they must take a taxi to Crandon Park Marina and ride a speedboat to find their next clue. Carson & Jack are the first team to get into a taxi, putting them in the early lead. Jonathan & Ana and Han & Holden are not far behind though.

The Final 3 teams must now do a Miami Scramble. They must complete three challenges in the water: Sail, Soar, and Save. They must sail around a yacht club, flyboard above the water, and save a dummy in the water. Carson & Jack are the first team to find the clue box, but Jonathan & Ana and Han & Holden get the clue soon afterwards too.

We next see Jonathan & Ana begin the Save task. They will do lifeguard training and rescue a dummy out in the water. Carson & Jack and Han & Holden arrive shortly afterwards. They’re all attempting the Save task first. Jonathan & Ana complete the Save task without any issues. They make their way to the next Scramble task. Carson & Jack finish the task next, and Han & Holden finish it third.

Jonathan & Ana are making their way to the Sail Task while Carson & Jack and Han & Holden make their way to Soar. While searching for Sail, Jonathan & Ana get lost and decide to switch to the Soar task. This could likely cost them their lead.

A team takes the lead

Carson & Jack are now in first place as they arrive at the Soar task first. It’s a Roadblock, so only one team member will complete this task. One team member must flyboard for sixty seconds. Jack chooses to do the Roadblock. Han & Holden arrive shortly afterwards in second place. Han chooses to do the Roadblock. Neither Jack nor Han have completed the Roadblock by the time Jonathan & Ana arrive. Ana chooses to do the Roadblock.

Jack, Han, and Ana are all struggling with the Roadblock. Ana is especially having a tough time after a bad experience she had in the water in her past. Eventually, Jack is the first to complete the task. Han finally completes it soon afterwards. She’s frustrated that she didn’t get the challenge completed earlier.

Carson & Jack are the first to arrive at the Sail task. They must sail a boat around Valentine’s Island to get the third piece of their clue. Back at the Soar task, Ana finally completes it after 21 attempts. She and Jonathan can proceed to the Sail task next. Ana is in tears, saying this was the hardest thing she had to do.

Carson & Jack extend their lead as they’re making progress on the Sail task. Han & Holden and Jonathan & Ana are still far behind. Eventually, Han & Holden arrive, but Carson & Jack are already halfway through the task. Shortly before Carson & Jack complete the task, Jonathan & Ana finally arrive.

Putting together the clues

Carson & Jack have all three parts of their clue. The block is a clue telling them to go to Calle Ocho Domino Park. The blocks only say “calle” with eight golden circles similar to a domino. Carson & Jack ask a local to help them decipher the block, and he correctly guesses Calle Ocho Domino Park. After Carson & Jack leave, we see Han & Holden get the answer from another local too.

Han & Holden hit another car on the road. They pull over to asses the damage, and both cars have been slightly damaged. The man in the other car lets them go after Holden speaks to him in Spanish.

Carson & Jack find Calle Ocho Park Domino Park and get their next clue. They learn they must find Ice Palace Film Studios. Some time afterwards, Han & Holden arrive at Calle Ocho Domino Park. Meanwhile, Jonathan & Ana finish up the Sail task.

Heading to the Finish Line

Carson & Jack are the first to arrive at Ice Palace Film Studios. They must complete a three-dimensional puzzle of details from the race. They’ve already made good progress by the time Han & Holden arrive. Jonathan & Ana are currently making their way to Calle Ocho Domino Park. They get there and receive their next clue. They can join Carson & Jack and Han & Holden at the final challenge at Ice Palace Film Studios.

Carson & Jack complete the puzzle. They can now proceed to the Finish Line: LoanDepot Park. After they leave, Jonathan & Ana arrive and get started on their three-dimensional puzzle. While Carson & Jack are driving to the Finish Line, Han & Holden put the finishing touches on their puzzle. It looks like Carson & Jack are having trouble finding LoanDepot Park, but it could be creative editing to make this final result seem closer than it actually is.

Han & Holden are the next to complete the puzzle task. They can proceed to the Finish Line now. We see Carson & Jack stuck in traffic, but it’s unlikely this is as close as it seems. And sure enough, Carson & Jack arrive at LoanDepot Park first.

Carson & Jack win The Amazing Race!

Phil congratulates Carson & Jack for winning The Amazing Race. Jack is overwhelmed and says he feels like the luckiest person in the world. Carson agrees that they’ve had a blast, and he couldn’t have asked for a better person to run the race with.

Jonathan & Ana complete the puzzle task and can make their way to the Finish Line. As they depart, Han & Holden arrive at the Finish Line as Team #2. Han is grateful for the experience. Holden says he wouldn’t have wanted to do the race with anyone else. They wanted the million dollars, but they are proud of each other. They never gave up.

Jonathan & Ana arrive later as Team #3. Ana says they did well together. Despite the fighting, she says they love each other. Jonathan says he believes things happen for a reason. He says they have to take things in stride. Ana says making it to the Final 3 speaks to how well they work together.
