Last week’s So You Think You Can Dance Top 12 results show revealed the Top 20, but left us with a cliffhanger. ONE of the street dancers would eventually drop out due to injury. On Monday’s show, viewers will find out which dancer exited the show, and who replaced them.
But for those of you who love being spoiled, we’ve got the scoop right here. We already told you that the street dancer who dropped out was Alain Lauture from Haiti. But now, we can reveal the replacement dancer. And it is…Asaf Goren!
Asaf is the Israeli B-Boy who delighted the judges with his cultural spin on street dancing. But during Las Vegas week, he struggled with the choreography. Making matters worse–he got into a verbal tiff with judge Nigel Lythgoe after dancing for his life. The conventional wisdom was that Asaf’s attitude spoiled his chance to join the Top 20.
On Monday, Asaf will join the rest of the Top 20 when the dancers perform LIVE for our votes. Will Nigel and Asaf continue to butt heads? This could be VERY interesting.
To familiarize yourself with Asaf’s work on the show. Watch his impressive audition, where he did some amazing breaking. Asaf gets into it with Nigel after dancing for his life. When Nigel remarks that it’s not “so you think you can entertain” it’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” Asaf inexplicably mouths off at him.
He’s lucky to be getting a second chance. Having said that, Asaf is talented in his style, good looking and so so charming. He could be a fan favorite. But he’ll likely continue to struggle with the choreography.
