Shortly after NBC and Univision cut ties with the Miss USA Pageant, after owner, Donald Trump, made derogatory statements about immigrants, the scheduled talent exited as well.
While The Voice 7 winner, Craig Wayne Boyd was one of the original lineup to say adios, there are several replacements that have ties to competition reality shows, reports the Times-Picayune
American Idol season 10 alum, Stefano Langone, Season 8 semi-finalist, Felicia Barton and Adley Stump from season 2 of The Voice will all be taking the stage when Miss USA goes on as scheduled at the Baton Rouge Civic Center in Baton Rouge LA. The event will be televised on The Reelz Channel at 8/7c PM, Sunday July 12.
Singer Antoinette Scruggs and Travis Garland, are also a part of the lineup. Travis was a member of the Dallas boy band, NLT, which also featured Glee star, Kevin McHale.
Flo Rida, J Balvin, and Natalie LaRose also pulled out of the event in the wake of Trump’s controversial comments.
Stefano, Felicia and Adley have all tweeted excitedly about their upcoming performances. Apparently, they are not afraid of the possible backlash that could result from aligning themselves with a Trump sponsored event.
