Survivor 35 Heroes Healers & Hustlers Week 7 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with the Soko tribe returning to camp after tribal council. Chrissy is confident about her position in the game. She says she’s dominating the social game, and she feels like JP and Ryan trust her more than they trust each other. Meanwhile, on the Yawa tribe, Cole believes all five of them trust each other equally. He believes they will stay together going forward in the game. However, Ben is concerned about Cole and Jessica’s flirtatious relationship; he doesn’t feel like he can trust them. Over at the Levu tribe, they have no food left except for a small amount of sugar. Everyone in the tribe is feeling very lethargic and hungry, and they are hoping for a reward challenge to win some food.

The three tribes meet Jeff at the beach, prepared for a reward challenge. Instead, Jeff announces that they are now merged. Everyone is excited to have reached this stage of the game. We hear a confessional from Joe. He calls it “music to his ears” when Jeff told them to drop their buffs. He feels good about the Healers sticking together, and he still has a hidden immunity idol too. Jeff also reveals there won’t be a typical merge feast. Instead, the feast will be hosted by Outback Steakhouse.

As they are eating their food, Joe reveals there was an idol played at Levu. However, Chrissy wonders if Joe has another idol. There is more strategy talk, and Jessica is hoping to bring people to her side. Chrissy also tells Ben he is her closest ally, but Ben is concerned about Chrissy talking so openly about the game.

After the feast, Desi and Jessica talk game. Desi tells Jessica that Joe is still on board with the Healers sticking together. Jessica feels like she is in the majority with all the Healers, plus Ben and Lauren on her side. After being separated after the swap, Devon and Ryan reunite and confirm they still want to work together. Ryan feels like the Hustlers should stick together, and he feels tight with JP and Chrissy too.

Devon and Lauren talk game, and he tells Lauren they should target the Healers. However, in her confessional, Lauren says she wants to stick with the Healers. Lauren reveals Devon’s plan to Mike later on, and Mike is concerned about the Healers’ chances. He says the line is being drawn in the sand; he’s expecting a war. Devon talks to Chrissy and Ben afterwards, and he says they should target either Cole or Joe. Chrissy is on board with this plan, but Ben is uncertain. Ben doesn’t know if he can trust Cole or not; he also calls Cole very disrespectful due to his eating habits.

Jessica is aware Cole’s name is being thrown out, but she considers him her closest ally. She doesn’t want him gone, and she lets Cole know that Ben has complained about him. Meanwhile, Ben is talking to Mike about voting out Cole, and Mike is concerned what to do. He goes to warn Cole about his name being on the chopping block. Cole says he’s experiencing that “Survivor paranoia,” and he hopes his allies will stand by him.

It’s now time for the immunity challenge. They must stand on a narrow balance beam while spinning a ball in a ring using centrifugal force. As the challenge progresses, they must move farther down the beam. If they fall off the beam or drop their ball, they are eliminated from the challenge. The last person standing will win immunity. The challenge begins, and Ryan is out after seconds into the challenge. Mike is the second person to be eliminated. Later on, Jessica is the third person out. Ben and JP are the next two out, and they are followed by Devon and Lauren. Joe is the next person to drop, leaving four people left in the challenge. After ten minutes into the challenge, Cole and Chrissy are the next two out. It’s now between Ashley and Desi; one of them will win immunity. After thirty minutes have passed, Desi and Ashley are still in the challenge. They now must move down to the next portion of the beam, but Ashley drops her ball. Desi wins immunity!

The castaways return to camp after the immunity challenge. They all get to scrambling to figure out whom to vote out. In his confessional, Cole is concerned since he’s aware he has rubbed Ben the wrong way with his eating habits. He goes to talk to Ben alone to clear the air with him. Cole apologizes to Ben, and Ben admits in a confessional he’ll work with Cole in the game if he feels like it’s the better choice for him. Later on, Cole and Joe talk game. Cole says he feels good about the former Yawa tribe, but Joe is unconvinced. He feels like Ben will flip on them, and Joe says in a confessional that he’ll use his hidden immunity idol if he feels like he is in danger. Meanwhile, Mike, Cole, Lauren, and Desi talk about voting out Chrissy. They say Chrissy is smart and needs to go, but they are unsure about where Ben stands.

Lauren goes to talk to Ben about the vote, but Ben is adamant about voting out Cole. Lauren wants them to stick with the Healers, and she tries to talk him into working with Cole and the other Healers for now. Meanwhile, the other group is considering voting out Joe or Cole. However, they are concerned about a possible idol, so they decide to target Jessica instead. Chrissy lets Ben know about their plan, and Ben is aware he is sitting in the middle. He says they are going to war tonight.

At tribal council, they talk about the scrambling that happened after the immunity challenge. Joe says he only heard three names thrown out tonight, so not everyone should be feeling worried. When talking about whom to target, Chrissy says there are different kinds of threats in the game. Joe speaks up and says that he’ll be loyal to the people he says he’s loyal to, whereas others will only be loyal for this particular vote. Joe also admits he has a hidden immunity idol, and he mentions he almost played his idol for someone else last time. Jeff asks Cole’s thoughts, and Cole admits he heard his name and Joe’s name today. He’s worried this could be his first and last tribal. Jessica is worried too, and she wonders where her allies stand in the game. Ben says the battle lines have been drawn, and they will find out soon where everyone stands. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Joe plays his hidden immunity idol for himself.
