On Monday’s episode of Songland (May 18), singer-songwriter Griffen Palmer pitches his tune “Second Guessing” to country group Florida Georgia Line.
The Canadian artist has notched multiple hits on the Canadian country charts, including 2019’s “What Do I Know,” co-written by 2016 American Idol winner, Trent Harmon.

The Ryan Adams-esque tune, has panelist Ester Dean jumping out of her seat. “Every woman wants to hear a man say those lyrics,” she says. FLG’s Tyler Hubbard appreciated that the song’s title belied a “little twist” in the lyrics. Shane McAnally admits that Griffen’s song marked the first time he was mad at a hook on Songland. Ryan Tedder and the panel then proceed to play with the lyrics, sharpening the song’s message.
“Long story short,” says FGL’s Brian Kelley, “We can work with you!” Will Florida Georgia Line choose Griffen’s song? Tune into Songland on NBC Monday May 18 at 10 pm ET/PT after The Voice finale performances.
