Oh no! There is another So You Think You Can Dance injury. Tucker Knox did not join the rest of the Top 12 when they performed a Bollywood number for assembled press during a set visit today.
“I am not injured,” said Tucker. “I have an infection in my knee, so I was not able to do the [group] performance. But I will be back dancing. I’m very excited for it.”
However, according to executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe, if Tucker is voted into the bottom 3 boys, the doctor has cleared him to perform a solo dance in order to attempt to stay in the competition.
“The rule with that is, if they can’t dance for a week, they’re kept on for another week — if they’re not voted out,” Nigel explained. “If they can’t perform after two weeks, they leave the competition.”
The judges weren’t fans of the hip hop routine Tucker and his partner, Jenna performed, so he could very well wind up in the bottom 3. We’ll see tomorrow when the Top 12 perform live on SYTYCD at 8/7c on FOX. As always, join Mac for his live blog.
