Every single sign points to The Voice Season 23 airing in Spring 2023
It’s VERY likely that The Voice season 23 will air in Spring 2023.
NBC has scheduled tapings for the next cycle of the singing show for October, which is when the network typically films the spring Blind Auditions. NBC tapes the Fall cycle over the summer.
Check out the taping schedule at 1iota.com HERE. As of now, tapings are scheduled for:
Thursday October 13 at 9 am PT and 2:30 pm PT
Friday October 14 at 9 am PT and 2:30 pm PT
Saturday October 15 at 9 am PT and 2:30 pm PT
Sunday October 16 at 9 am PT and 2:30 pm PT
All tapings take place at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
The Spring cycle Battles and Knockouts (if the format doesn’t change!) tape after the first of the year. The Voice spring cycle premiers sometime in February, typically.
Hints and speculation that The Voice would return in the spring
There has been major speculation that The Voice would return to its twice a year schedule. The veteran competition reality show skipped the spring cycle in 2022 to make way for the American Song Contest, the stateside version of Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, not even Kelly Clarkson or Snoop Dogg’s hosting skills could save it. The ratings dropped massively compared to The Voice in the same time slot. (0.5 rating in the demo vs 0.7-0.9 for The Voice. American Idol destroyed it on Mondays)
NBC hasn’t officially cancelled ASC. (The network could scale it back and stream it, or turn it into a summer show.) But why wouldn’t they replace it with the competition series that garnered higher ratings in the time slot? Beyond speculation, there have been notable signs that NBC planned to bring The Voice back mid-season 2023. The show held open calls in the summer (which they did not in 2021) and language in the audition contract stipulated that potential contestants would need to keep certain dates in the spring open on their schedules.
Who will sit on The Voice season 23 coaches panel?
Not known yet: Who will sit on the season 23 panel? Blake Shelton most likely. He’s never leaving The Voice, right? And when asked in her wide ranging interview with Variety, Kelly Clarkson indicated that she planned to return to The Voice. If American Song Contest returned, she’d probably also return as host. It makes sense that she would coach on The Voice instead.
But other than that, who knows! Gwen Stefani would probably come back if asked. Camila Cabello’s busy schedule will probably mean she doesn’t return, at least not for the spring cycle. John Legend has a residency going in Las Vegas. But helicopters and private planes could wisk him between Los Angeles and Nevada. But with a new baby coming with his wife Chrissy Teigen, he could take off a cycle.
NBC did NOT announce Nick Jonas as a The Voice panelist before Season 18 filming began. Fans who attended the virtual tapings spilled the deets on that. SO STAY TUNED PEOPLE.
