Paula Abdul is doing the NY media round circuit this week to promote her new CBS show, Live to Dance, premiering on CBS tonight at 8 pm.
I nearly forgot that Paula did the choreography on the late 80’s FOX show, The Tracey Ullman Show until she mentioned it this morning on Live with Regis and Kelly.
Paula explained that her introduction to TV was aided by the folks who produced Ullman including the legendary James L. Brooks. Her existing relationship with FOX probably helped her score the Idol gig.
As Paula promotes Live to Dance, the more I hear, the less interesting it sounds–amateur dancers of all ages perform for Paula and her panel of “experts.” No judges here! Everybody will get a gold star! And the heart-tugging stories will trump any “talent” displayed on stage.
But I’m going to give it a shot anyway. If I’m being perfectly honest? I kinda miss crazy ole Paula and am actually looking forward to seeing her seal clap on my TV again…
