New Years Rockin’ Eve celebrates 40 years on the air. Tonight, Jenny McCarthy hosted a special that counted down the Top 40 performances. Some of these bring back such memories. For instance? I remember dancing my face off while  really really drunk in a gay bar in State College as Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” helped ring in 1980. And sitting in my parents living room with my little sister in 1975 (uh, we raided the ‘rents liquor cabinet. Oops) watching the Beach Boys rock out “Good Vibrations” (#18). Ah.

Back to reality. Carrie Underwood’s 2007 performance of “Before He Cheats” sits at #10.  And Jlo at #1? Really? SERIOUSLY? (Entertainment Weekly)
