Congratulations to American Idol alum, James Durbin and his long time love, Heidi Lowe who got married tonight in an intimate ceremony in the Santa Cruz mountains. The Idol rocker’s rep confirmed the happy news to People magazine.
The couple’s two year old son, Hunter, served as ring bearer. The 85 person guest list included fellow idols, Stefano Langone, Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams.
After the ceremony, which took place at the edge of a redwood forest, Stefano tweeted, “Beautiful wedding! Just ended now and were on our way to the reception! Owww party on! 2012 baby it’s gunna be the best year of our lives!!!”
“We are so in love and happy that we got to share our special day with our closest family and friends,” the couple tells People.
“This wedding was the perfect way to kick off the New Year. We are looking forward to living happily ever after.”
The couple plan to ring in the New Year with a reception at a local community hall that they describe as a “little bit country, little bit rock ‘n roll.”
A highlight of the night featured Geoff Tate, the frontman for progressive metal band Queensrÿche, surprising James and Heidi with a performance of his band’s 1984 classic “Take Hold of the Flame.” It’s one of the couple’s favorite tunes.
