According to the American Idol official twitter account, current winner, Nick Fradiani will be a guest performer on this Thursday’s (3/10) performance and results show.
Nick is getting ready to release his first post-Idol single, “Get You Home” this week. Those who pre-ordered his album on Pledgemusic were able to download the track today.
“We’re putting the last little finishing touches on the record,” Nick told the Hartford Courant earlier this year about his upcoming album. “It’s totally Top 40 pop music. I’ve been into a lot of Nick Jonas andMaroon 5, stuff like that, so it has that vein, but I kind of put my own vibe to it that I feel happy about.”
The aforementioned influences are certainly there on “Get You Home,” as the singer croons the verse in a funky falsetto. The track is current sounding, radio ready pop. Not that the singer feels he sold out in any way. “I just wanted to make the best possible music and write the best songs that I could…on my terms, and the way that I want it,” Nick said in a recent video previewing the single, “…and I think we got it!”
Also on Thursday, the Top 8 will perform the American Idol Songbook. In other words–songs you’re sick to death of hearing on the show. Actually, if you check out this week’s song spoilers, it’s mostly not true. Join us on Thursday as we live blog American Idol beginning at 8 ET. In addition to the performances, TWO contestants will be eliminated.
