After eliminating 3rd place finisher, Jax, the Final 2, Nick Fradiani and Clark Beckham, battled it out for the crown on Tuesday’s American Idol 14 final. Both singers wrapped up their performances with a debut of their coronation singles.
Nick’s song, which he described as “a cross between Fun and The Goo Goo Dolls,” was co-written by Chris Carrabba of the early aughts emo band, Dashboard Confessional, and songwriter/producer, Rykeyz.
After performing the song, the judges noted how it seemed to be tailor made just for Nick. “It was you in the moment,” said Jennifer Lopez. “That’s what people go out and buy,” Keith Urban added.
